My wife and I recently moved to Baltimore and bought our first place, and before moving in decided to renovate our kitchen and powder room. Emilie was incredible throughout the entire process. She went WAY above and beyond, gave us so many options, orchestrated every detail, advocated for us (and our wallets) at every turn, and at the same time made us feel so welcome in our new city. Her industry knowledge, creativity, and communication were invaluable; there’s no way that could have done anything remotely close without her. We LOVE our new Kitchen :). Thank you Emilie, can’t wait for our next project!

I’m so grateful for my work with Emilie. I had just moved and started a new job. I had no time and definitely needed order but was also looking for a touch of creativity and artistry—and Emilie delivered! The designs she created were inspired. I have a lot of unique original art pieces I've collected over the years, and Emilie incorporated them seamlessly in her design. The end result was unique yet to my taste/preferences. Emily also helped to make my transition so much easier. She managed all the deliveries and installations, so everything was convenient for me. I would definitely work with her again!

Emilie is fantastic! We started with some rough ideas and preferences -- she took that and created a comprehensive vision that looks absolutely stunning. Our house now feels like it was made just for us. Emilie handled all of the frustrating parts process -- ordering, returning, dealing with vendors, setting up spaces, and making adjustments as needed. All we had to do is sit back and enjoy the results. She was a true pleasure to work with from beginning to end. We recommend her enthusiastically!

My husband and I purchased a new townhouse in August of 2020. We ordered a new sofa and a chair initially, but it became apparent after our furniture arrived, we needed some help with layout of our new, modern home with an open floor plan. I knew I needed a professional to help. I found Home Methods by a google search. After reading about Emilie and her work, I contacted her for a consult. She came to my home and we discussed what I liked, didn't like and vision for my living room. She was SUPER helpful, professional and great to work with. She provided 4 possible layouts with 2 different story boards for possible pieces. I decided to look for a few things on my own, using her suggestions as a guide. Before I purchased anything, I would check in with Emilie. She was responsive and always gave great advice. My living room is almost done-I had a set back with the Interior Define debacle and had to start from square one!! Emilie stuck with me, answering all my questions and giving advise when I needed it. I can't wait to receive my furniture and have her over to check it out. I would also add that she helped with picture placement too. I am super grateful to have found and worked with her. I will be keeping her in my contacts to use in future projects, which will hopefully be toward the end of this year. I highly recommend Emilie and Home Methods!!

Emilie is absolutely fabulous! We moved from the West Coast to Baltimore in October 2021 and purchased a row home in Federal Hill. The home had been updated 10 years ago and was very eclectic. We had never felt totally settled in our prior home and wanted to work with a designer to feel totally settled into our new life across the country. In reviewing numerous Yelp and google reviews, we found Emilie at Home Methods and instantly fell in love with her bold and bright color palettes and the right amount of eclectic and classic to really match our personalities. We were still in escrow when we met Emilie and she came over to the home even before closing to take measurements and help us start envisioning our new home. Emilie walked us through every part of the process with expertise and enthusiasm. Emilie gave us quotes for helping pick out design ideas at various cost levels as well as helping us install her vision with appropriate contractors, delivery personnel, and shipping/storing until installment day. In the first round we decided on living room/dining room furniture, wallpaper/paint, art and decor. Once we were living in the home, we realized we needed to update the hardwood floors, which were not standing up to our pack of pets. Emilie helped us then identify some awesome luxury plank vinyl to protect the original hardwood underneath and a fantastic professional to install them. All of Emilies contractors were professional, kind, prompt, and provided excellent work product. Emilie herself is kind, personable, incredibly knowledgeable, prompt, enthusiastic, and flexible. We literally could not have imagined a better working relationship with such a big task. We absolutely love our home and all of the design choices that Emilie helped us make. With such an eclectic home she helped us marry the right balance of punchy and timeless, not to mention durable with 4 dogs and a cat. If you are looking for any home design project, big or small, Emilie is the right choice. We will continue to use her for ongoing updates and additions in the future because it was such a wonderful experience. Emilie is an absolute joy to work with. We had 2 full baths and 1 half bath that were in desperate need of renovation. Emilie spent time to really understand what we were looking for in our bathroom designs and then presented us with two options for each space we were redoing that we could choose from. The bathrooms turned out beautifully and are everything we hoped they would be. Emilie helped us choose every thing the contractor asked us to provide, ordered the items for us and coordinated with the contractor to make sure that everyone was on the same page. When the wrong item was delivered or too many of an item arrived, Emilie took care of getting the corrections made. She made the major undertaking of renovating 3 bathrooms at the same time as painless as possible for us. Her rates are reasonable and she was worth every penny we paid for her services. On top of it all of this, she is a genuinely sweet person! I am so happy to know I have a designer who is so easy to work with that I can count on. I will definitely be calling on her expertise again in the future!

Emilie has been an absolute dream to work with. Our project was huge, spanning two floors of our house and including an outdoor area. She helped us to create new layouts, source new furniture, create an aesthetic that blended both my and my husband's unique tastes, AND keep things wheelchair accessible and disability-friendly which is especially important for me! We have received countless compliments on our newly redesigned house. She also worked incredibly well with our other contractors including an architect and kitchen designer to coordinate deliveries, design new features, install shelves/hanging features/art, and add wallpaper/paint that would be cohesive. Her connections to both large stores and local craftspeople meant that our designs were affordable and one-of-a-kind. We will be continuing to hire Emilie when we need help deciding on the perfect piece to add to the foundation she's helped us to build.

Working with Home Methods and Emilie Schiller has been a phenomenal experience. I had a space that was ill-defined that I wanted to repurpose as a home office / guest bedroom but didn't know where to start. At our initial consultation, Emilie listened to my vision, learned more about my design style / desired budget, and took measurements. She delivered two amazing floor plan options, both of which were within budget and matched my aesthetic. After I chose one, she coordinated everything--from tracking deliveries to staging the space to hiring contractors to paint/assemble/hang. She did it all! I love this space now. Working from home, I go into my new office each morning and feel a wave a calm wash over me because it is here I feel authentic. This is all in thanks to Emilie and Home Methods! I'm so enthralled by my new space that I'm on to round 2, where Emilie will help me redesign my open floor plan entryway / living room / dining area. Cannot recommend Emilie enough!

Working with Emilie to design and furnish my office was a great experience! She is professional, responsive, honest and works with you to find YOUR aesthetic. She is willing to work within any budget and goes out of her way to make the whole process as easy as possible for the client. She is approachable, respectful and hardworking. I love my new office!

I worked with Emilie at Home Methods from April of 2021 through the first year of the new year. I received a referral from Greenleaf Construction in Baltimore and could not be happier with their recommendation. During our first consultation, Emilie created a safe space for exchanging ideas while maintaining her professional experience and advice. She was thorough with her notes, measurements and patient with the many questions I asked. Home Methods was responsible for changing the interiors of our dated office kitchen, primary bathroom, powder room, and secondary bathroom. Emilie even went the extra mile and assisted with ordering and purchasing every key fixture required for the construction crew to begin. Emilie was respectful of my busy and chaotic schedule and trustworthy with our office work and projects. Another reason why I would work with Emilie again and have recommended her to several colleagues is she is very upfront about prices, cost, and sticks to your desired budget. Knowing you will not be invoiced more than was discussed was such a relief. Our office interiors came out beyond beautiful, and I cannot thank Home Methods enough for their professionalism, creativity, patience, and kindness. You will not find a better Designer here in Baltimore or the DMV area.

I could not glow more about the experience of working with Emilie and her team. From design to execution, she did a fantastic job threading the needle between mine and my wife's tastes, which were at times at different ends of the spectrum. We moved into a new house and the previous owners left us with an incredibly tacky aesthetic. Emilie transformed the space and managed all aspects of installers, painters, deliveries, etc. She brought simplicity to a complex process that was made even more complex by COVID supply chain challenges and left us with a space that is simply jaw-dropping. We couldn't be more pleased and we probably did better from a budget perspective than had we decided to go it alone. We will definitely be working with Home Methods again!

Emilie did an incredible job in both designing an efficient closet that would match our needs and space limitation, but also took the lead on dealing with the installation companies, saving us time, frustration, and money. On top of that, she’s an absolute joy to work with and a really fun person. We would highly recommend working with her and plan to use her again later with additional projects.
