Konishi Gaffney are an award winning architecture practice led by Kieran Gaffney, a Scottish architect, and Makiko Konishi, a Japanese designer. We believe that an artistic and sensitive collaboration with the client is the best way to achieve the great solutions that we aspire to. We focus on simple things like light and orientation to the sun; on movement and function; on connections between inside and out; and on materials and their emotional impact. We create buildings that are sensible and modest but also beautiful and atmospheric; buildings that embody a sense of Japanese wabi sabi.
