Legacy DCS

These guys have no business being in the development industry. Every project is delayed by at least two years. They are not truthful when communicating to clients. I regret purchasing a home from them. If they didn’t already have a very large non refundable deposit from me I would have gone elsewhere. Read their contracts carefully. Ours said they had 7 years to complete our home and they are already in the 4th year. Bear in mind this home looks exactly like the one next to it with the same floor plan. It’s not the Sistine chapel or special in any way. Their subcontractors leave the project because they don’t get paid. So then there is delay in finding new ones. Our home largely sits without updates for months at a time. We have no recourse except to warn others so that they don’t get stuck like us.

My husband and I purchased a Legacy DCS home in the Lake Travis area. Given the unprecedented nature of building a home amid a global pandemic, we found Legacy to be a communicative, detail oriented, and customer-focused partner. Legacy built an exceptional product that took into account our desire for energy efficiency, sustainable sourcing, and a common sense layout that maximizes space and embraces the surrounding landscape. We highly recommend the entire team—especially, Marilou, Chance, Louis, and Wade.

We hired Legacy DCS to build a house and have not been happy with our experience. The project took a year longer than promised. There have been numerous issues that we were not satisfied with and we are battling with them to get things properly finished. We chose Legacy DCS to complete our $100K+ renovation to our home we fondly called "Monster House" due to the condition it was in when we purchased it. Cass Brewer and Nathan Stephens (our project manager) were very thorough and knew exactly what needed to be done to make our house a home. Carrie (Brewer Design Solutions) did an amazing job suggesting design, colors and all finishes. We were able to stay within our budget and our timeline. I hired Legacy DCS to plan, design, and renovate my house that was built in 1989. They were very patient with me while it took me a whole year to decide and finalize my plans. The renovation included adding a family room & a new utility/mudroom, remodel an outdated kitchen, 3 full bathrooms, and 1 powder room, replacing 1st flooring, and updating our curb appeal by repainting, replacing our old siding and windows. The project started at the end of January and fully completed by July as promised. My family lived in the house during the renovation, and everyone who walk into my home were very accommodating. Even though, I wouldn't recommend anyone to live in the house during a major renovation, I believe that we had the best experience anyone could have. There were few unexpected issues that rose during the renovation, however, the issues were handled very swiftly. I would recommend Legacy DCS to my friends and neighbors.

The team at Legacy DCS has a crazy amount of combined experience. From Karley who keeps everyone organized and moving forward to Darrin, the builder who supervised a stunning custom home with an amazing window wall in a barn themed home we worked on together, to Cass and Carrie, the amount of experience you are drawing upon when you work with them is vast. Our projects (my design, Legacy's construction and, often, interior design) have been on two Cool House Tours. Next one is June 7th. Cass has been able to evolve with the times from traditional to sustainable building practices. His team has done cleverly designed slabs that do not impact tree roots below, followed our complex multi-level design plans well and done everything from pool cabanas, to infill gut and rebuilds to new homes using Hobbs' Ink design services and I don't think I've ever heard, "it can't be done," one time. If you can dream it, they can build it.

I'm in the HVAC industry and have worked with Cass and his team I can tell you they are very good about following up and making sure the project is complete. They won't stop until their customers and inspectors are Happy! M.A.

I'm so pleased with my custom home that Legecy Builders out of Austin Texas built for me. I have built several homes in the past and this by far was the best building experience I have ever had.
