Lisa Bakamis is one of the most independently creative designers I have encountered. Her ability to think outside of the box and create unique. personal environments for each client is amazing. She does a great balance of both listening to her clients's vision while also offering new ideas to expand upon the initial vision. Her eye for color, texture, pattern and the interplay of those 3 things is incredible and rare. She is also isn't snobby about everything being custom and high end. She is happy to have some items be nicer and others be from cheaper sources. She loves the high/low mixing and is great at finding affordable substitutions when budgets are more constrained. She has so much work that she doesn't have enough time to photograph all her projects so there are many more beyond her website!

We've worked on many projects with Lisa Bakamis. Lisa is incredible to work with-- she is very detailed and organized, and has a clear vision of how she'd like to transform each piece of furniture from the start. Her design aesthetic is genuinely terrific and we love that she is willing to take risks with pattern, colors, and textures. She brings an amazing professional sensibility to each project and she is truly a pleasure to work with. We love her style!

I never thought I'd be someone who would hire an interior designer but here I was with a new house to fill and absolutely no time. Lisa is very experienced and super talented. A lot of designers I saw do the same thing over and over again, you are hiring for a certain style. Lisa can work with whatever style you want - I told her what I was looking for, I didn't want an overly "decorated" look as I live up in the mountains but I wanted something beautiful, casual and lounge-y for all my guests and myself to enjoy. She hit it out of the park. Her creativity and ability to put pieces together (I tend to fall in love with a piece and try to stuff it in somewhere and she'd explain to me why it wouldn't work) is amazing, I get SO MANY compliments on various things in my house, the wallpaper, the table, pillows, rug, etc. She's Type A and reliable, she itemizes everything, she understands I don't have the budget for everything to be super expensive and high-end (she found some incredible vintage bargains that again, i get compliments on all the time). If you have a vision, no matter how different it is from HER style, she can work with you. I had almost no time so she made it easy by pinning ideas on a pinterest board, I could put my comments, likes and dislikes than we'd occasionally get together and she'd start pulling together her vision. I gave her a key to my place so she took care of all the meetings with painters, etc. and I was traveling so much, she met the furniture deliverers and I came home to a gorgeous, furnished home! On top of everything else, it was so much fun working with her! She'll push you to go out of your comfort zone but she'll also listen if you have really strong opinions - a great person to collaborate with for sure. I've seen other people spend a lot of money on various designers and I have to say, I feel like I go the BEST with Lisa. She's also great with accessories. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend.

It was a great experience working with Lisa. We rarely get the chance to branch away from the "safe" old-world feel when it comes to remodels that is so predominate here in wine country. It was a real treat to dive into the different materials creating a truly unique space for the client without going overboard. The end product was a beautiful mix of soft and harsh elements with a tasteful splash of color. She brings the comfort and style to life through her use of vintage and one of a kind materials like the vintage cheetah -print mirrored tiles as a backsplash to the mini-bar area off the kitchen, or the 1" rope industrial pendent lights she found on Etsy for the guest bathroom. All in all, it was a bast working with her. Great energy and style!

The kitchen and bathroom that Lisa designed was brilliant. She listened to what I wanted, came up with a great design, and used the available space and light to transform a very odd layout into a kitchen that is warm and inviting, a full ensuite bath, and a walk-in closet for the master bedroom. Lisa also helped select the appliances and hardware. Very attentive and always willing to go the extra mile.

Had a great experience with Lisa. Saw some work she had done and it was right up my alley. We were able to quickly transform an ugly space in my house into something that ALWAYS elicits comments from all who enter (90% of them positive but some just don't care for what we did because it's not their taste---this is FINE with me.....if everyone loved it I would call it boring and that's not why I hired her.) She coordinated the subs and brought them to the job and then managed the installation. The work got done while I was at work or out of town!

Lisa was wonderful to work with. I needed to re-decorate in a hurry and she went above and beyond to make this happen. She quickly was able to understand my style (which has taken weeks with other designers) and sent me the most amazing designs almost immediately. Within only a few weeks I had the house of my dreams and I owe it all to Lisa. Not only is she top notch professionally, she is also a lovely person to work with. I enjoyed ever second I spent with Lisa and learned so much about design. Lisa gets my absolute highest recommendation and I can't wait to work with her again.

Lisa did an amazing job on my small living room/dining room space that pulls it together in a warm, inviting but also exciting design. She is great to work with. She takes the time to understand you and your preferences and stands by her work. Lisa is all about quality and customer satisfaction, but in a way that gives you the benefit of her great taste and extraordinary sense of color, texture and style. Highly recommend her.

Lisa did an absolutely amazing job on an extensive remodel of our vacation home in Sonoma. She immediately understood both our aesthetic and budget, and was spot-on in her recommendations. Her attention to detail, communication and responsiveness are second to none. She was also incredibly rigorous at following through on each step of the process -- from detailed diagrams and numbering of furnishings, to taking receipt of all items we ordered, to the final implementation of every last detail. We couldn't be more thrilled with the result, and couldn't recommend her more highly.

Run, don't walk, to hire Lisa. Of the 5 interior designers I have hired in the past, Lisa is by far the best. I will never use anyone else but her in the future Why? 1. Incredibly creative 2. Passionate about the project -- truly puts her heart and soul into the assignment. When we walked into our newly furnished home for the first time, we were so blown away, we were speechless. Every detail down to coffee table books and accessories was phenomenal with just the right tone and personality. She is uniquely talented in guiding you, but allowing your own individual style to shine through at the same time. There were several challenging aspects to our project and we were incredibly impressed with her creative direction. In short, we would have been lost without her. Lisa redesigned our den and kitchen , with space planning, furniture selection, and lighting.fixtures. She found things and had ideas that were just beyond my expectations, a real pro at visualizing and putting fabrics and things together. She worked with several things we wanted to keep and merged it all beautifully. The rooms look amazing now! We are so happy with her work!
