Living Wood Design creates modern luxury designs; our one of a kind tables and fine furniture are all made to order and handcrafted from local sustainably salvaged and kiln dried wood in our Muskoka and Toronto studios. We use traditional artisanal techniques to create unique modern designs that will come alive in your home. We are known for our stunning salvaged black walnut and maple live edge dining and boardroom tables. We have worked with designers and homeowners throughout North America and as far as the Virgin Islands to create custom pieces for homes, restaurants, hotels and businesses. Enjoy the unique experience of collaborating with an artisan to create your custom piece. We give each client unparalleled attention, spending as much time as you need to design your custom piece and to bring your vision to life. Each heirloom piece comes with our stamp and is numbered on the bottom for authenticity. You're welcome to visit our studio to pick out your pieces and discuss your design in person, and we are also happy to collaborate by phone and/or email. We offer white glove delivery worldwide. I ordered a bunkie from Living Wood Design/Sisu Living and it's amazing! It's well built and perfect for our Muskoka, Ontario cottage property. We use it for our Airbnb and guests-a big hit. I'm now ordering a sauna and hot tub from them to add to our property by our lake... it will be perfect for our Airbnb. Great service and quality...highly recommended.

We commissioned Living Wood Design to create some custom furniture for a new lakeside vacation home we built in Muskoka, Ontario. They designed and built a one of a kind black walnut dining table for us, as well as a matching sideboard and coffee table. Andy is a truly remarkable artist; he has created absolutely beautiful, timeless pieces that have become the focal points in our cottage. We completely enjoyed the entire process of collaborating with Andy and Anna on these pieces. We were also impressed with Living Wood’s dedication to sustainability in all that they do, using hardwoods salvaged in Ontario from fallen trees. Having furniture that is in harmony with nature is important to us and we loved that Living Wood Design uses all-natural materials and they donate a portion of each sale to have new trees planted.

I (thought) I purchased a beautiful walnut table that was advertised. Once I paid I was told that the table advertised wasn’t actually for sale but they’d build me a table—-all I had to do was choose a walnut slab. Over the next few months the store worker didn’t send me any walnut slabs to build my table. She sent me some other wood samples that I wasn’t interested in. As I needed to move on to find a table I asked the lady for my money back; as she hadn’t provided me with even a walnut slab possible for my table. She refused to give me refund. Be very cautious in buying from this vendor.

The process of ordering a table with Andy and Anna was simple and stress free. Andy's deep knowledge in carpentry and woodworking is evident in the quality of the table. When selecting the slabs for the table, Andy assisted us in the optimal slab arrangement based off of the features of the slabs. There was a delay in the completion and delivery of the table, however, it was explainable as it was due to an unforeseen issue unrelated to the creation of our table, there was prompt communication and transparency. Anna and Andy's customer service is top notch. They listened to our requirements and provided their feedback based on their expertise. They are friendly and knowledgeable. We would definitely order additional pieces in the future. There were no additional costs outside of the estimate originally provided prior to the start of work.

You will not get a better live edge table anywhere. Andy is a perfectionist. He worked with us to create a masterpiece worthy of its central feature in our cottage. He is an artisan at heart who is sincere in his love for his work. Producing works here in Muskoka or in Toronto, for cottage or home, his works are designed for your space and unique environment. His works are priceless at very reasonably prices. Highly recommended.

Andy and Anna made our beautiful custom dining room table. They worked with us to get the exact table that we wanted. They went above and beyond to get the perfect book matched set of English walnut slabs and matching piece for the bench. We talked with Andy about the design for the base and we came up with a custom design that he hadn't done before, which we love. Their communication was excellent and they kept us in the loop every step of the way. They even let us come and check out their workshop and see Andy at work, which was very cool. Overall, I would highly recommend purchasing a table from Living Wood Design. Andy even came to our house to install the table and teach us how to care for it.

We just adore our new table black walnut table. Anna went above and beyond sourcing a brass plater to make the style table base we desired and asked extensive questions to ensure every detail was to our specifications. They went above and beyond to have it produced and delivered for our move date. All the while she was moving, having a baby and never skipped a beat on our service. Such a pleasant and talented company to work with. Highly recommended. Excellent customer service.

We ordered a table and console table from Andy and Anna in January 2015. We first made contact with Anna through email to discuss a meeting time with Andy at their location. All emails were answered quickly with helpful information. We went to Andy's shop to discuss design and materials which was very helpful in focusing us on what we really wanted for our boardroom. Andy took the time to show us the different types of wood available and as well as showing us what the finish on the wood would look like. He thoroughly explained what modifications would be required based on our desired design ideas to make the furniture still look great but be safe and long lasting for our space. Our tables arrived in late February, ahead of schedule, and were delivered and assembled in our office by Andy. The room lighting made the furniture a bit lighter than expected and Andy offered to add another coat of finish on the spot and it looked great. Overall the furniture is one of a kind and absolutely beautiful. The whole process was very easy and very professional. We would recommend Living Wood Design any time. We love our custom pieces and would recommend LivingWood Design to anyone interested in designing a unique, custom piece with professionalism at the helm. Having ordered our pieces from thousands of miles away and not knowing anyone who had used LWD before was indeed a risk but one worth taking. Anna and I ht it off right from the start and both she and her husband (Andy) were extremely communicative throughout the whole process putting me at ease.
