About Us

Malibu Ceramic Works Inc., established in 1979 as part of the mastercraftsmen revival movement, arose out of a demand for the architectural fine art of the past. In the tradition of local tile manufacturers who flourished during the early part of the 20th century, Malibu Ceramic Works Inc. Reinvented the lost art of hand made tile and its cultural richness, which once made local tile companies such as Malibu Potteries, Santa Monica Brick Co., and Catalina Tile famous. During the past 30 years, Malibu Ceramic Works has established itself as a local art treasure. Many of the Art Tile projects designed and manufactured by Malibu Ceramic Works adorn prominent commercial and residential structures such as: The Battistone Villa in Santa Barbara, featured on the cover of the Rizzoli book Casa California, the Four Seasons Biltmore Hotel in Santa Barbara, California and the Los Fuentes Plaza in Pasadena, California. Additionally, our work is referenced in various publications such as Sunset Magazine, American Bungalow and Traditional Builders. Malibu Ceramic Works works closely with architects, designers, and builders to provide clients with an outstanding selection of craftsmanship in the tradition and style of our predecessors. Each one of our finely detailed tiles is handcrafted by Malibu Ceramic Works’ artisans and offers a rich heritage in ornamental beauty. If you should need any further information please don’t hesitate to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you.
