I've been working with Girsh Development since 1995 and believe they are one of the best Developers and general contractors we've worked with. Part of the challenge of going into a construction project or buying a design-built house is committing to a relationship with a Developer. It's a leap of faith to trust them with your vision, budget, schedule, and with attention to quality. Mark tactfully delivers projects of exceptional quality while staying on schedule and under budget. We hope to work with Mark and his team again and again and again.

Mark Girsh was the General Contractor on our build of a custom designed modern house in Princeton, NJ. There are a few reasons I would recommend him highly as a GC. 1) He's honest. After the build he stood by his warranty and was there for 5 years as we ironed out any issues we had. 2) He's reasonably priced. There are some firms which will underprice the project and then increase the price with change orders. He did not do that. His pricing was reasonable at the beginning and stayed that way. 3) He's good at what he does. We had a problem with a sub-contractor who custom-made a stainless steel railing showcased in our great room. Mark took care of it. He's got initiative, doesn't make excuses and does what he says he'll do. For all these reasons, I could not recommend a GC more highly.

Girsh Development was a 10 out of 10 for us. We contracted with Mark Girsh to rebuild our home after a fire completely destroyed our original house. Mark was sympathetic, personable and easy to deal with. He educated us through the whole building process, something that was very important to us. Mark's number one priority was customer satisfaction; he allowed us to customize the house the whole way through. Mark included his dad, Leonard, in the building of our house and both were very accessible throughout the entire process. They dealt with all construction issues very quickly and openly. They were able to "roll with the punches" that we threw at them or that the construction process threw at them. Most importantly, Mark was very transparent throughout the entire process. There were no surprise costs along the way. Mark-ups on change orders were more than fair. It is highly evident that Mark Girsh prides himself on building a top quality end product and that is what he did for us. We would use Girsh Development again in a heartbeat to build our home.

We bought a house in Point Breeze, Philadelphia built by Mark and his father/partner Leonard. We are extremely happy with our purchase. They have used the high quality materials and the finishes are very modern and aesthetically pleasing. The house has been thoughtfully designed and every small detail has been paid attention to. Mark and Leonard have been extremely proactive with the few small issues that we wanted fixed. We highly recommend them for any project - big or small.

Girsh Development built a contemporary home of my design for a client in southern NJ. This project is on display in their portfolio here on Houzz. They took the non-traditional design in stride, and had no problem rising to the challenge of the work. Girsh was professional throughout the project and brought a solution oriented problem solving motivation to any of the issues encountered. They were good with followup and left my client satisfied. And the quality of the work stands out above his peers. I'd be happy to work with them again.

A year ago , We chose Girsh development Inc to complete building my home from ground up. We had a time constraint to build it within a year, which was a great risk, Girish development completed the project well ahead of time. We could not have asked for a better quality of work than this. We are completely happy with the workmanship and the quality of workers that Mark brought in to complete the work. At every stage of the work , Mark consulted with us and was more than glad to do any change request. We greatly commend his project execution in a effective way. He will be on top of things until things fell in place. The house that he built for us is elegant and beautiful. Overall, we had a great experience working with Mark Girsh and Mr. Leonard. It was a pleasure working with Girsh Development. They understood our vision and the project requirements and executed it in the very difficult economic environment of 2011-12. They worked with us to come up with creative solutions to meet my design requirements of modern/minimalist styling. They definitely went way beyond the call of duty to deliver a great end product.

I recently worked with Mark & Leonard Girsh ( Girsh Development ) to build my home. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made. Our relationship led to a wonderful learning process as I was new to construction, an extremely well constructed home and a relationship to last a lifetime. I had purchased homes before but this was my first time building. Mark was a terrific help right away. He saved me from a land deal where my lawyer had dropped the ball. It turns out the developer selling me the land had a creative way of increasing his profit at my expense. Once Mark clearly showed me the pitfalls with the land deal, I voided that deal and decided to look for new land. Mark put me in contact with a highly reputable local realtor who helped me search for land. This time around, we finalized the land deal. They reviewed prospective land deals with me to help me find one that accommodated all of my family’s needs and the home of our choice. Equally as important, he was able to consider all the required site improvements to make sure that the lot we chose would fit within our budget without taking away what we wanted in the house. We moved from building our family’s home using high quality stick frame construction instead of the prefabricated modular home as we initially planned. He listened well and was able to help me organize a plan based on my wants and needs. His advice gave me direction that I did not have before. I had already spoken with various bankers, realtors, builders, developers, etc while trying to put my project together. Each of them only understood a small piece of the entire process required to build a home. None of them were able to clearly explain an effective and efficient process for getting things done. He explained patiently the proposals provided by other builders and how he provided value. Our first attempt to get a loan was rejected, and Mark worked with me to change the plans and work with our financial advisor in getting the second loan attempt approved. We had various issues created by the seller of the land, and Mark helped me navigate them due to my prior inexperience. At this time, I need to mention Leonard Girsh, his father, who also oversaw construction. I cannot think of anyone better for the job. He does it as if it is his life’s mission, and he is kind and gets the job done. I am so very thankful to have found Girsh Development. Since I completed my house, I have recommended close friends and family. I highly recommend their services to you as well.

Girsh Development built our custom designed 3,500 s.f. modern home on 3 acres of land we owned. We were very comfortable with the Owner's personality right up front. As a family owned business they have a down to earth personal interest and genuine caring attitude. Our project scope included plans review, budgeting, financing, permitting, construction and punch out. Our experience of working together to manage costs was very important and Mark Girsh was very attentive and willing to do anything possible to help us achieve our project. We did not feel overly burdened by the process in any way thanks to having a clear plan and pricing up front. As with any construction project unforeseen things can come up. We did have such an event with some unplanned ground remediation work that was required to properly accomplish engineering. We were treated very fairly and given help by the Girsh's to manage the site and foundation changes with as minimal time and costs as possible. We corrected the issues and moved on from a scenario that without the generous cooperation of our builder, cold have made our project unmanageable. The construction timeline, with exception of the delay for the above mentioned site remediation, was carried out as planned. The quality of construction was right on target of our architects design. Being a designer myself, we had very specific desires for details and we were able to execute them with intention. In any cases where adjustments needed to be made or the expected field challenges may arise, we were accommodated fairly. We never had issues with change orders for things as we built, one due to proper planning and second because the Girsh's standard of building is above average. in a number of places they provided upgraded quality of materials at no cost simply by their choice to make sure they built a high quality home. A few examples of this were insulation, roofing and some framing and sealing details. We did have a few items along the way that we wanted to change or upgrade and there was no hesitation to provide these at very reasonable costs. Overall our experience was great. Finding a good relationship with a builder, especially for a custom home is not an easy. We were very fortunate to have found Girsh Development so that we could achieve our dream of building a high quality designer home. We are extremely happy with the end result of our endeavor both on design and quality. I certainly recommend Girsh Development as a builder.

Mark built our custom home for us as if it were his own. His level of patience and attention to detail is well above and beyond in this industry.
