My condo association hired North Cost for a large project involving the replacement of our siding, windows, and front and back decks. The project was complicated by the fact that we live in a historic district, so there were a lot of restrictions on the designs and materials we were able to use. This could have been a real headache, but Caleb from North Coast worked directly with the historic commission on our behalf to ask the right questions and keep the approval process moving along. Caleb could not have been easier to work with - he put real thought into every aspect of the project and made sure we were informed every step of the way. In comparison to some of the other contractors we received bids from, Caleb really seemed to give his full attention to the project from the very beginning, and we really appreciated that. We have since hired him for several other projects, and our association has been universally pleased with all the work he and North Coast have done for us.

We have had North Coast Construction do a variety of services over the past several years: construction of new deck; renovation of water-damaged basement,which included analysis and correction of water issues & total reconstruction of concrete block basement wall; installation of 2 French doors, bay window, & 2 entryway doors; and reroofing house & garage at our home in Mound, Minnesota. North Coast Construction's contractor, Caleb Rick, also did renovation of our guest cottage near Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, which included 2 buit-in closets/storage areas and an archway & railing separating our dining room & living room. We have been very pleased with all the work that has been done. Caleb does an excellent job of finishing work & is also very good at overseeing subcontractors. He makes sure that each job is done professionally. Caleb is very thorough in researching every issue. He brought in specialists when needed to deal with the water issues, failing concrete wall and damage in our basement. Caleb is persistent in getting the job done right. When there was a problem with the grids in our bay window, he contacted the window company as well as his rep from the lumber yard and had the problem corrected.

Larger projects require the services of various trades, a contractor and on occasion, an architect. We are most often hired early in the process and asked by the homeowner to make recommendations for other companies and individuals necessary to complete their project. Caleb is our first choice when our clients ask for a referral. He is careful and attentive at every stage of the project. His proposals and cost estimates are complete and reflect the actual job. He is excellent at helping the homeowner make good choices on products and materials and adept at matching new work to the existing home. Caleb is "hands on", often doing complicated trim work himself. But most of all, Caleb is a joy to work with, personable and accommodating. The word "teamwork" is often used but rarely lived up to; Caleb's approach is that it's in everyone's best interest to work together and that the completed project will be the better for it. North Coast Construction was the contractor for our recent Mendota kitchen and living room overhaul. Caleb's work is superb and he meticulously selects highly skilled subs. Caleb is a "hands on" contractor and did all the carpentry for our project himself.He is especially knowedgeable about green construction materials and finishes. Our large remodel involved rewiring the '50s kitchen to code, removing a wall, reframing for two energy efficient windows,universal framing throughout for the new cabinets, refinishing a vintage oak floor, widening a walk through, replacing a door,installation of Mamoleum tile flooring, artisan tile accents at sink and stove,relocating every appliance to improve functionality of space,replumbing entire kitchen plus adding a secondary sink area, reconfiguring ductwork for the kitchen plus awesome exhaust fan, finish trimwork to match the existing trim in rest of the home.The job site was kept extremely clean.Project was finished on time and the building process went Very smoothly .
