Phillip Jeffries

Phillip Jeffries seems to have poor quality control on their wallpaper. I ordered 70 yards of wallpaper based on the sample which was in the taupe family. Once the wallpaper was up not only was the color off (it was a true grey) but it was also missing the striations which were very visible on the original sample. PJ sent down a rep who agreed that the wallpaper didnt match up to the sample. Although she said they would review it and have an answer in 48 hours it took them 2 weeks to get back to me. They offered 30% off on a new purchase. SERIOUSLY? I spent $2500 on the wallpaper and then installation costs on top of that. What is 30% off going to do for me? They really need to stand behind their product if they want people to consider it. I will be purchasing elsewhere for the rest of my home remodel project.

I would strongly recommend against using Phillip Jeffries. My project to use African Raffia grass paper in a bedroom project should have been simple and straightforward. But PJ delivered incorrect products with non-matching dye lots not once, but twice! And I'm only giving you the short version of my experience. PJ's lack of attention to quality control is stunning and their customer service needs work. I originally ordered 56 yards in two rolls - 32 yards and 24 yards. Delivery was prompt. The label numbers and dye lots all looked good. I hired an experienced and reputable wallpaper hanger. He got to work and all was good until we opened the 24-yard roll to complete the job. Whereupon, we discovered that the roll colors did not match, despite the matching dye-lot stamps. We had to suspend the project and get replacement from Jeffries. That was phase one. I talked to the shop where I originally ordered the paper, sent them photos of the situation, and they agreed with me that this needed to be remedied. They communicated with PJ and PJ’s first offer was to take back the incorrect paper for a 40% RE-SHELVING FEE! Seriously! After further - ahem - discussion, PJ agreed to exchange the bad batch of 24 yards for an acceptable dye lot (now they didn't have any more of my dye lot, so we agreed I would select from a different but closely matching dye lot), They sent me samples of the 3 other dye lots with enough yardage in them to supply our needs. I chose one particular sample, and they shipped 24 yards of that one right away. End of phase two. Upon delivery, I opened the box and double-checked color & dye-lot numbers on both rolls (yes, they divided it up into two rolls without alerting me) - all good. Now I verified the color (smarter this time around) by unrolling each roll and guess what? The rolls DID NOT MATCH! Dye-lots said the same but seeing is believing and they couldn't be more different. Indigo on one, aqua blue on the other. To add insult to injury, I looked more closely at the labels and it turns out they were packed a YEAR apart! Argh! More photographs and conversations with my wallpaper shop today - and now she is set to converse with Jeffries next Monday, after the holiday weekend. You get the gist. Even if you don't know how it all turns out, you can see that working with Phillip Jeffries is fraught with mismanagement, incompetence and disinterest. I strongly recommend staying away from Phillip Jeffries and their products.
