I'm been working with Pierre and his team for at least 2 years now. Pierre has an "eye" for interior design. I'm satisfied with his design choices he has selected. He has decorated and customized my entire Townhome. His team is very attentive with working with me to design and decorate my entire home with furniture and wall art. For remodeling, Pierre has provided contractors that are best fit for the work. Pierre is a excellant communicator that offers me ideas that I would enjoy for my home. Working with him has been a pleasure and I highly recommended his service. My home looks like it could be on Architecture Digest. I couldn't have decorated my home without Pierre's assistance.

I wanted to update my living space to see it more closely match my personality and design sensibilities. I reached out to Pierre after seeing some of his work online. During our initial meeting, we talked about the vision I wanted to see realized and he shared with me his background, approach to design and his process. The project moved forward and I found myself in very capable hands with Kara as my project manager. Upon initial delivery, Kara took the time to catalog each item and gave me documentation showing all the items that remained outstanding. Admittedly, the project took longer than anticipated due to the pandemic and some difficulties in my securing a contractor. Looking back, it do wish I had more clarity around what services were outside of scope of work Pierre and his team where providing. Pierre’s architectural background coupled with his exquisite expertise with interior design makes his firm the perfect choice for anyone looking to remodel their home or like me, building a new home altogether! I called Pierre Jean-Baptiste Interiors a week ago in a bit of panic and in desperate need of a designer. I needed a redesign of the bathrooms in the home I’m building and due to time constraints, I needed the redesign in less than 24 hours! Can I say “Pierre to the rescue”!! Pierre and his team did a fantastic job coming out to my home, taking measurements, showing me a design, telling me about the custom product, and receiving the goods. There was a delay in receiving the products, but that was no fault of their company. My wet bar was for my birthday, and it is absolutely breathtaking! I own a portfolio of real estate properties and Pierre provided me with some integral selections for which turned out to be fantastic once completed. I have worked with him quite a few years now and appreciate the time and care that he provided. I recently purchased a condo after many years of hard work. I wanted my home to have a comfortable luxury five star feel. Therefore, I decided to hire a professional interior designer to help me avoid analysis paralysis when choosing my home’s decor. I had never used an interior designer before and didn’t know what to expect. I decided to hired Pierre and his team after viewing his work on Houzz and meeting with him. The design for my master bedroom was first on my list. Pierre presented me with the design and the look was wonderful. The wood color choices were out of my comfort zone and I would have never thought of picking. I decided to trust him since that was the whole point in hiring him. The day my items arrived Pierre was there for the set up and to answer any questions. There was one item that was slightly delayed however, Kara was nice enough to deliver it to me as soon as it arrived. I must say, I love my new Five Star Luxury Master Suite! Great Job! M.Thomas

Pierre is a very talented interior designer. My bathroom turned out better than I expected. We had a few hiccups along the way but they were resolved immediately.

I LOVE this guys work! He is well rounded, professional, punctual, and creates unique tailored designs that spells out personal character!

I will just say that I was relieved how amazing our bathrooms turned out. We did have issues with the contractor initially as they were unsure about which color grout and the tile orientation. I got a bit frustrated as I did not understand how these went together. I did shortly after connect Pierre with the contractor. After they reviewed the plans and had a 30-minute meeting everything was resolved. I really did not want to be as involved as I was, however it was quite a relief after they reconnected to resolve the issues. I don’t think that I could have come up with such a pleasant design on my own. The tile was extraordinary in both bathrooms and worked well with all of the corresponding wall colors. Hiring a designer definitely opened up doors that I would not have been able to on my own.

I needed a fast turn around as my wife, kids, and I had just moved into a new larger house and needed furniture within 1 month. We let him know this and thought it would be an issue as we understand that to design and receive furniture takes at least a few weeks. Pierre completed the selections within 9 days and was able to get our major sofas and chairs expedited in about 4 weeks preceding the design completion. Although this was a few days more than our deadline, it was worthwhile. We were surprised that the delivery gentlemen set everything as well up for us which was quite a relief. The final art and other items took about 3 more weeks to arrive before the final setup. We appreciated the flexibility/solution that was proposed to make things work for our unique situation.

The selections were okay but they were not at all fit for my space and I feel as though he didn’t try to find pieces that went with the furniture that was already put in place and ignored the style. He selected things that didn’t go with the theme which was transitional and the things he selected were very modern. It seemed like he just wanted to get this project out of the way and didn’t put much effort into it

Pierre is excellent all around! He is very professional and even better - he is very adept at tuning into your own personal style, preferences, likes/dislikes, and then really using all that to plan an amazing design you will love. I truly love the different rooms he designed for us, and over time, we've gotten so many many compliments on the rooms from friends and family. What's best, I feel his designs remained true to who we are and make us truly feel at home. I also know, that on my own, I would have never come up with these concepts or found the amazing pieces he helped us procure. In our family room he had the idea of using reclaimed wood on an accent wall to tie the room together - this makes it so much cozier and at the same time is an elegant highlight. In our main living room, he suggested furniture with upholstery and throw pillows which tie seamlessly with the area rug without being too "matchy-matchy" and even mesh well with the artwork in the room- creating a stunning overall look. Finally, he persevered in giving us many great options for the dining room where we had a harder time deciding what we really wanted. We wouldn't have such a beautifully designed house without him! I have worked with 2 interior designers in the past and find Pierre to be at the top of his game, he also has more reasonable pricing than some of his peers - really giving you top value for your money's worth!

Pierre is innovative & possesses qualities I could only dream of in an interior designer. He’s a polite and accommodating professional with a creative eye for class. He was always accessible and very attentive throughout the entire renovation process. Accolades to this first class designer!

I was looking for a professional to remodel my living and piano rooms. After checking around, I hired Pierre Jean-Baptiste Ltd. Pierre listened to what I wanted, although I doubted him and fault some of the selections. He asked me to “trust the process”, and it took a while, but now the 2 spaces look fantastic! My home looks completely different with beautiful lighting, drapes and some custom furniture. See photos of “Gray Matters”. I love the completed look.

I needed to have some updates done to my basement which included a bathroom remodel, living room remodel with a home theater installation. After several estimates and consultations, I decided to go with Pierre Jean-Baptiste Interiors. Pierre and his team did a fabulous job; from our first meeting to project completion. The team was very professional and Pierre was very knowledgable and gave me suggestions that made complete sense. Not once did I feel like I was being suckered in purchasing stuff I did not need. The work was completed as promised. They gave me a timeframe of 2 months and stuck to the schedule as promised. The remodel turned out beautifully along with the theater installation. Pierre Jean-Baptiste Interiors is the worst interior design company my husband and I have ever worked with. We purchased a new home in the fall of 2015. I returned from my 6th deployment in Nov 2015 and was not yet assigned to the D.C. area and had to commute between Fort Drum, NY and Woodbridge, VA. As such, I needed assistance in furnishing and interior design for our home. I found this company on the web and after researching others in the area and meeting with Pierre, decided that this would be the best business to go with for our needs. The first meeting with Pierre was great! He seemed very knowledgeable and experienced in this arena. He explained the process and was very responsive in the beginning with providing the design options for us to choose from within the first couple of weeks of contact. I reviewed the contract he provided us, signed the agreement and everything went downhill from the moment he collected the 90% deposit from us. The project(s) in our home totaled just over $30,000.00. So for this amount of money with 90% of it received up front, I expected great customer service and communication. None of which occurred. He became very difficult to get in contact with and would not provide definitive answers on the status of our project on whether or not everything had been placed on order. I contracted with him in Dec 2015 and by Jan after I'd given him the deposit, he became scarce. We were able to finalize some outlying details for a couple of the rooms by Feb 2016 and proceeded to wait for months afterwards for the furnishings to arrive - which for the most part is not abnormal. But when we were almost a year down the road and still hadn't received much of anything other than lamps, contact paper, and pillows - soft furnishings and none of the furniture, we became very concerned. Everytime I inquired about these items, his assistant would respond with a long laundry list of excuses as to why the items weren't ready for delivery or in the warehouse yet. We were over charged for many things that we ordered - some items we were grossly overcharged for. Also, somehow it was our responsibility to spend additional money on top of what we were spending with this design company to find subcontractors to install anything that needed installing or painting. Case in point, we agreed on wallpaper and had it ordered. I contracted with a company to install it. The owner of this company has been installing wallpaper since before I was born in the early 70s. They opened up a roll and discovered that it was contact paper - not wallpaper and told me that normally they do not hang any type of contact paper - only wall paper. They agreed to install it because they were already contracted to install actual wallpaper on my dining room walls and sitting room ceiling which I'd purchased on my own - not through any other design company. There was an issue with the measurements of our basement wall which has 11ft ceilings. The contractor informed me that we were one roll short. I immediately called Pierre's company and emailed him, but got no response - it was a Saturday and the office is closed on weekends. So I decided to see if I could quickly find another roll somehow and researched the label on the internet. I found the paper on amazon.com for about $25/roll. Pierre charged us $500.00 for this wallpaper. After this discovery, I began to question just about everything we were receiving - was it custom or not? We ordered custom bedding for our daughter's bedroom which we were charged about $400.00 for. What was delivered was bedding from IKEA. We received a white fitted sheet, flat sheet and duvet insert. EVERY interior designer is responsible not just to assist in the selection of the purchase of wall coverings , furniture, etc. They are also supposed to have furniture placed, any wall coverings installed, and to monitor the progress of the project. Interior design agreements are supposed to be essentially turn-key agreements. The interior designer has no right to delegate to the homeowner retaining sub-contractors, installers, and/or repairing light fixtures that are defective. Any defective product is solely in the hands of the interior designer. The phase II - procurement section of Pierre Jean-Baptiste Interiors agreement states that they do not typically order from retail merchants, all retail prices will be billed to the client at approximately 25%-35% above the designer's discounted cost if any. Yet, it appears that much of the furniture and furnishings we purchased were retail purchases and for example, IKEA does not give a discount so why would we be required to pay 25%-35% above the retail cost? It's like buying gas - is it $3, 4 or 5.00? You don't go to the pump and the price is $3-5 for regular unleaded. You know how much you are paying. So it's the same with any commission or mark up. It should be a set rate and the client should be informed clearly what it is. The agreement we signed is illegal because it is vague in that you cannot have a commission price that is a variable of 25%-35%. There also is never a need for a 90% initial deposit. It is always 25%-50% with the balance paid before delivery. Phase III of the agreement we signed for project install and completion states that they will help coordinate the schedule for delivery and installation of the work, make periodic visits to the job site to ensure that the work is progressing according to the applicable specifications, etc. The company gets off the hook by putting in language that they may provide a referral or contractors and installers, but he is required to determine whether the work is proceeding in conformity with Pierre Jean-Baptiste concepts/standards. This basically means that the interior designer says that installation costs are the responsibility of the client and he may, if he feels like it, watch what is being done. We will never know where the figures came from for everything we purchased. I have requested the vendor invoices which should be made available to the client and have not received anything. We don't know if the bill for the items include his commission mark-up or if it's the retail or wholesale price? Every consumer should beware of this company and others like it. You don't know what you don't know and it's best to have an attorney review any agreement before signing it. One that's well versed in interior design law - which from what I've found can be difficult. This was a great learning experience and so now we know what to look for if we ever decide to use an interior designer again.

Pierre provided a design presentation for our Family Room. Our room was in need of some "pizazz" and I can truly say that Pierre's design did just that! The colors and hues of the items selected was exquisite. He is extremely professional, prompt, and attentive. We hired Pierre to design our master bath for a remodel project (pictured in his gallery). He took our ideas, quickly put them on "paper," and executed our vision. One of the thing's I enjoyed about working with Pierre was his responsiveness and adaptability. For example, the first glass tile he chose for our shower was nice, but not our style. He went back to the "drawing board" and selected a new tile based on more feedback. He nailed it the second time around. We went outside our budget slightly due to some of the materials he chose, but at the end of the day, they were the right decisions. The biggest compliment we get to date is when people walk into our bathroom, they think it looks like something you see in a high end hotel/spa/resort. Pierre did a great job!

Our Home is our show place, family resort and sanctuary for children and Mr. Jean Baptiste characterize every square foot of our home into something that would be award winning, Mr Jean Baptiste taught us something about cost-effectiveness, people will pay for what they dont know ! He had beaten other contractors by several thousand dollars, Plus amended superior assistance to our landscaping at no additional charge. Basically Mr Jean Baptiste took our perception and created into a heightened reality that we now live in. We hired Pierre to finish our sunroom and master bedroom. Although we were very Skeptical, he put us at ease a few weeks after our initial meeting when we saw the design concept. We were warned that the interior design process can take a bit of time, but we had the time to spend to make sure that the finish product was 100%. About five months later we were granted two completed rooms that we use daily. The upside was the finished design and the concept that we were able to see prior to completion. The time is something that should be considered when planning a new interior design project, but we had no issue with that.

In summary: I would never refer him to anyone. He comes across very professional initially and then it goes down hill from there. A classic case of over promising and under delivering. It is clear that with our project he lacked the passion, desire to see it through to completion. I have never been so displeased with a designer.We contacted Pierre at the end of June 2014 to design 3 rooms in our home. I was initially impressed that he was able to come to our house the day we called. After a couple days we decided to move forward with him - a few things we liked were that he had very bold designs, his prices were pretty comparable to others, however we appreciated that he charged a flat fee per room for his services, and he was very responsive to our calls/emails. He returned the day after we decided to move forward, he took measurements and collected his service fee. I sent him an email the same day which provided him with our budget.Design phase: Pierre provided us a design plan for 2 of the 3 rooms we requested, however the plans were incomplete and DOUBLE the budget we had allocated for 3 spaces. He response was that he did not see our budget until after he started the design plan and he made the decision himself to leave out the 3rd space due to budget constraints. Our preference would have been for him to contact us immediately so we can determine how to move forward. We decided we would move forward with one room, given the cost for 2 rooms was extremely high. We wanted to meet with him to discuss the changes in the design plan, however, he preferred we walk through it over the phone. Now his main concern was that we were too far away for him to make trips to our house. At this point it would typically take him a week to respond to an email and it was not uncommon for texts and phone calls to go unreturned. It ultimately took over 2 months to finalize the design plan.Billing: Pierre provided us with an invoice that had several errors. We walked through it over the phone and once he was able to make the changes and send us the final invoice we did not see where he subtracted the cost for the 2 rooms that we were no longer doing. His response was that he already started the design for one room and whenever we were ready to proceed we could call him to move forward. In translation, we were stuck with paying him for services we did not receive. Not to mention the fact that he retained possession of the designs, he only showed us the designs once. So we have nothing to show for rooms 2 and 3. At this point we were stuck and our only way to move forward was paying him for the furniture so that he could place the orders or walk away and loose the money we had already paid for his services. We choose to move forward. This was the first week in September.Installation: we did not here from Pierre again until the 2nd week in October when he emailed to set up time for furniture delivery, although I sent a few emails to inquire about the status (they were not returned). We confirmed a delivery date, however, he had an emergency and could not make it. We found out when his contractor showed up to our house an our late on the date scheduled. We then saw that Pierre sent an email 30min prior to let us know that he would not make it but his contractor would. His contractor began the install but then we noticed, the rug was not the one we chose and the chandelier was missing. We emailed and text Pierre....and no response. He did not call to follow up to see how the install turned out, if we were pleased with his selections....nothing. Typically you would expect an interior designer to arrange the pieces that were selected or generally show concern for whether or not his vision was executed as planned - not Pierre. Follow up install: We spoke with Pierre and expressed our concerns. He stated our project was so small that it did not require him to be as involved and he had larger clients to focus on. We set a date for him to come out and look at the space (he had not been to see it once since he received payment) and provide us with the color selections for our main floor, as agreed. HE DID NOT SHOW UP, CALL OR EMAIL. WE HAVE NOT HEARD FROM HIM AT ALL. We took the evening off and waited....I guess he forgot about us.

The services received were exceptional. I was looking for a designer to help design a space in my home. After sending several inquiries, Jean-Baptiste Interiors was the first to contact me, and provided a consultation at my home immediately, despite the snow storm. Very professional, knowledgeable, accommodating and a team player. I was very inspired after the consultation. I will use this designer again to design the rest of my home.

We hired Pierre to design our family room and it was the best decision we could have made. Just in judging from his website, we knew he had talent and he did not disappoint. Our family room was a blank slate and he immediately went to work, demonstrating truly inspired creativity from the window treatments to architectural details on the ceiling to perfectly placed furniture and a carefully interwoven color scheme. He was punctual, professional and skilled. He provided us with a design plan that was accurate both in what elements went in our room as well as cost ( we paid exactly what he'd projected in the beginning and nothing more). He was also flexible throughout the process, always being open to hearing our opinions and even making changes when necessary. He is attentive to detail which serves him well in his work. He ultimately married our tastes perfectly and we could not be happier with our room. We even utilized his skills in our kitchen and dining room and have moved on to the nursery. It is clear that he values his name brand by the pride he takes in his work and how he treats his clients.

Pierre and his staff completed my bathroom remodel, and the dining space interior design project. They came by to provide a quote and listen to my families requirements. Afterwards my husband and I spoke about our decision after interviewing another designer. We decided to move forward with Pierre Jean-Baptiste Interiors because they work directly with their own contractors, which made the process a bit easier. After about 8 weeks the project was complete. Every time I spend time in my space my family and I are truly happy.

Pierre is an extremely gifted young designer. I would consider him a hidden gem among designers in the DC, MD and VA area. He works with clients with a variety of budget freedoms and constraints. He is talented in creating rooms using all genres of design (i.e. traditional, modern, contemporary...etc). I fully recommend and endorse his work. If your objective in hiring an interior designer is creativity, uniqueness and sophistication you've found the right man!

I am very pleased with the help that Pierre and his team provided my husband and I with our master bedroom suite. Hiring a professional over doing it ourselves was worth it. The project took about 7 weeks and we did not have to stress about colors and putting the whole room together.

What I initially liked about Pierre Jean-Baptiste interiors was my consultation was free so I didn't feel pressure to be committed to this company until after I met with the designer and heard his ideas and input. When Pierre came to my home I was able to explain to him in full detail what my ideas were for the space. I felt that he listened and provided me with some helpful input. At the end of this process I have a completely amazing space Pierre did everything including wall colours, furniture, accents, and storage, and not only is my space amazing it is fully functional which was one thing that was very important to me and was stressed to Pierre at the beginning of this project. Overall I am extremely pleased with my decision to hire Pierre Jean-Baptiste Interiors for my design needs and I will definitely be calling them when my lower level is complete. I hired Pierre Jean-Baptiste Interiors to create a new look for our den. We needed new furnishings, accessories, lighting, and a fresh coat of paint. We are a family of four and we needed a timeless space to relax after busy work and school days. To my surprise the project turned out better than expected. They provided the electrician to come and replace my old hanging chandelier. The painters were on time and clean. After proposing a sofa that I was not 100% sold on, I went against my feelings to let them piece the room together and I could not have been happier with the selections. Thanks again!

I contacted Pierre sometime in August or September and set up an appointment. He came to the house shortly after the initial conversation. I was upfront about not looking for "instant room" and let him know I was an avid DIY with trusted contractors. My father had recently passed and I needed to make the room mine but still honour my fathers memory. I had a lot of accessories from my father that I valued and asked Pierre to include them in the design. To the date Pierre delivered the spec book. I couldn't have been happier. He designed the room with clean lines and excellent taste. He made the necessary changes and included the items I requested to remain in the home, in the design. I was initially hesitant to spend the charged fee and only hoped that I would receive what was promised. I took the book with me to shop my diy items and always got remarks such as " Is that your house?" "That looks beautiful." This of course built my confidance in what he had created and the changes I needed to make. There are a few items which I intend to purchase from his supplier to began to set the stage for the full monty. I dont expect him to give away his trade secrets, but he has answered all my calls and estimate requests. Though I'm progessing one layer at a time, the map he layed out and the suggestions he made give me no doubt that I will be sitting pretty at the end.
