Rebuild

I wish we could have hired Todd and Rebuild decades ago when we purchased this 1927 home. We had some remodeling work done in 1998 but, since then, we had little time to undertake the major electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and insulation work our home needed. More importantly, we lacked the design sense so critical to make our home “work” better for us. With this in mind, Todd presented imaginative yet practical design options for us to ponder and once we made our choices, his team of polite, professional subs set out to rework our entire upstairs footprint and main bathroom, upgrade our kitchen and sun room, restore our cove ceiling, and transform the main floor toilet “closet" to a lovely powder room. With a keen eye to adding value wherever possible, Todd also reconfigured our basement to include a new egress window and additional bedroom, re-sided 50% of our house, adding new trim and gutters along the way, and totally reengineered our large deck so we can now take full and comfortable advantage of our Mt Hood view. He convinced us that replacing our old wood stove in favor of a modern, efficient gas fireplace would make our primary common area much more comfortable and appealing, adding light and more square footage for us to host our kids and grandchildren. Todd's imaginative design suggestions - switching the upstairs bedrooms and bath to a “Jack and Jill“ configuration, repurposing underused closet space, turned an odd closet into a toilet room , and another to yield a large walk in shower, while converting unusable storage into a master closet and sitting area, all added value/equity and made our home so much more livable. The quiet, comfort and usefulness that Todd’s upstairs design unlocked for us was surprising and the light, airy feeling his work brought to our common areas is absolutely delightful. All of this came at a price, to be sure, but once we hammered out the scope of work, Todd developed a detailed budget, stuck to it and faithfully presented cost decision points for approval when necessary. The management skill and supervision time he regularly applied to our job, and always at every critical turn, repeatedly validated the trust we invested in him. My husband and I decided to move back to my childhood home and wanted someone who knew old homes and was familiar with issues that could come up. Todd from Rebuild knowledge and experience with remodeling gave us confident that Todd was the right person to remodel our sentimental home . Todd did an outstanding job as contractor for the complete remodeling of the kitchen, master bath, powder room, entry way, office, living room, dining room and laundry room in our 2,400 square foot high-rise condo. Not only did he bring in excellent subcontractors, he also stayed on-site with them to make sure things went smoothly. Hi all. I can't say enough good things about Todd Hertner and ReBuild. We had a remodeling project started by another company that was completely messed up - a disaster, truly. ReBuild came to the rescue. They quickly sized up the situation, cleaned up the other company's mess, and got to work. ReBuild was efficient and organized, gave timely updates to us, came in on budget and on time, and all with courteousness and professionalism. Ours was a tricky situation with many challenging design issues, but ReBuild stepped in and handled it all beautifully. Even though we were excited to be done with our project, we were sad to see Todd and him team leave. I would highly recommend ReBuild for all your additions and remodeling needs.

My project with Todd was above $160K to demo and rebuild a basement ADU type apartment for us to "Age in Place" within our son and daughter-in-law's house. We interviewed multiple contractors but he provided the most comprehensive plan for completing the project and gave an honest timeline and he was obviously the most knowledgeable of the Portland requirements, and of the steps necessary to take to get the permits for a family ADU of all the contractors we interviewed. We were still living in the San Francisco Bay area during the construction but I never was left in dark on what was happening. He was always available and we had almost daily contact via voice and video so everything was on target and moved forward seamlessly. His advice was excellent and things that I thought would work he was often able to show me better and ultimately more attractive ways of achieving what I wanted. The quality of work is excellent and his sub-contractors are experienced and are fine craftspeople (tidy, also) and he is never satisfied until every seam matches and the owner is satisfied. From initial bid to construction to follow up – Todd Hertner/Rebuild LLC are a top-notch choice for anyone looking for quality construction. Highly Recommended!!!

We worked with Todd from Rebuild for our bathroom remodel that was completed in November 2015. I would describe us as somewhat picky customers with high standards. We are very happy with the result of the remodel and the quality of the work. Throughout the renovation, it became clear that Todd is very involved in managing all aspects of the project and is always thinking about making decisions in a way that ensure long lasting quality. Let's face it - most of us are not expert builders and it would be easy for a contractor to make short term decisions. The consultations, questions and proposed solutions to any obstacles we faced made it clear that Todd does not take short cuts. My first home remodel project was the master bathroom. This remodel was not a huge project but it was huge to me. Todd, at Rebuild, walked me through each aspect of the build. Todd came up with many design ideas and let me pick which one I desired. We ended up changing the entire layout and it flows much better. We hired Rebuild for condo upgrades to operate as the General Contractor. Rebuild went over and above to provide professional and on-time service including sourcing of sub contractors and liaison with our HOA. Rebuild provided regular updates especially where changes were requested by us. They were very open and specific on pricing and always communicated regarding any changes to cost either up or down. Rebuild sent photo updates so we could see how the work was progressing. We would highly recommend Rebuild and would definitely use their services again.

Rebuild did a very good job coordinating all aspects of the project. All of the subs were great. It was a very tight job due the lot size and building position but there were no issues. Great care was taken protecting our fence and the neighbor's property during the construction and each sub did a good job cleaning up as they worked. We would work with Rebuild again.

We hired Todd Hertner (Rebuild LLC) in the middle of an entire house rebuild. We bought a 1917 house and took it down to the studs...Todd was hired for the rebuilding aspect of the project. He was straightforward and honest in every aspect of the (long!) process, always available for questions or concerns. He worked seamlessly with our designer, architect, and engineers - very able to offer suggestions without stepping on anyone's toes. We have only the best to say about this company!!!

REBUILD worked with us from design through final completion of project. Contractor provided connections to excellent subcontractors, who all executed high calibre work on a schedule without any consequential delays. The final result was a kitchen we had spent twenty years imagining! We have received rave reviews, especially from people who like to cook, and who appreciate both the quantity of storage, and the design allowing for multiple chefs.

Rebuild LLC completed various upgrades in my home from updating fixtures and tile in three bathrooms and finishing off the family room to create a nice focal point, as well as painting and plumbing. Rebuild did an excellent job of keeping me informed and completed all of the remodeling projects on time and produced a high quality outcome. Todd provided great customer service and thank you! Rebuild LLC is an oustanding outfit. They remodeled my kitchen from the studs out, including removing and reframing a wall, so a big job. Todd was very communicative and helpful throughout the entire process, and the entire team was great- hardworking, yet respectful and careful around the house. The quality of the craftsmanship was excellent, and while they were not the lowest bid I got (and not the highest by a long shot either), they were the best value for the money. And they finished ahead of schedule, which I didn't think ever happened! I can't say enough good things about Rebuild. I've worked with a number of contractors over the years in PDX, and Rebuild tops the list. Hire them.
