As a high-end door manufacturer, we work on many jobs with custom home builders in all of the Colorado ski towns (such as Aspen, Vail, Breckenridge, Steamboat, Telluride, etc). We've pretty much seen it all. That being said, it has been a pleasure to work with Rutgers on a number jobs and I would recommend them to anyone building a custom home in Pitkin County. Their supervisors and project managers have a great understanding of the building process and handle the challenges that inevitably present themselves with grace and understanding. As an Interior Designer in Aspen for over 20 years, I have worked with many construction companies in the Roaring Fork Valley. I had the opportunity to work with Rutgers Construction on a project that was the building of a new home from conception to completion. After the original architect was released from the project it was up to me to decide, design and complete the project. Working hand in hand with Jan on a daily bases, the end result was a stunning modern farmhouse in Woody Creek. In 2014 we hired Rutgers Construction to build our house designed by CCY Architects, Matter Interiors and ConnectOne. Chris Morrow, the project manager, and the rest of the Rutgers team was able to complete the project quickly and efficiently. We are very happy with the end result and love our home.

Over the past several years we have successfully completed 3 renovation projects with the Rutgers Construction team. We have done both residential and commercial projects with them. Most recently, we completed a historic renovation and re-positioning of a brick and timber office property that is now shared office/co-working space in downtown Basalt. Jan, Tony and the rest of the team have been able to complete these projects in a timely and cost efficient manner.

Did a great job building my house. It turned out to be well built. Close to budget and under a year to build! Tony Rutgers has assembled an A team with dedicated foremen and supervisors to get the job done. He has subs that show up and get the job done and he is fair with the pricing of fixing mistakes. He and his crew are all delightful to work with. They worked very well with my designer, Michael Paxton.
