Perhaps in the past, Vanessa Nagel was skilled and competent in helping clients with landscape design. Unfortunately, in 2021, Ms. Nagel overpromised and undelivered. She took our money but did not follow through with anything of value. She admitted to being unresponsive and claimed challenges in her personal life were responsible. Steer clear.

My husband and I had the great pleasure of working with Vanessa Nagel. She is professional, knowlegable beyond compare and someone who truly puts her heart and soul into her projects. We couldn’t be happier and still enjoy our beautiful French boxwood garden. Complete with boxwood birds and a giant Fleur De Lis. Rarely does a day go by that someone doesn’t rave about the stunning masterpiece that Vanessa created. We have also had Vanessa design landscapes for our businesses. The are just as stunning and each unique. We are truly grateful to have met a Vanessa. She has always been respectful of our deadlines and budget and always exceeded our expectations!

One was considerably more complex than the other, but each required the type of skilled, insightful, flexible, and creative listening and thinking that she exemplifies. We loved her enthusiastic and open approach, and the way she led us through the process of clarifying and solidifying what became a shared vision. Vanessa was respectful of our budget and worked to consult with us on plant and hardscape materials, and to maximize the amount of labor we could do ourselves. We knew Vanessa to be the author of two garden books, and the fact that her own garden had been featured in numerous garden tours seemed a fitting testament to her abilities. From start to finish it was evident that her many years of experience, her gregarious nature, and her formal training as an interior and landscape design professional amply provided the tools necessary to so resourcefully create a pattern of rhythm and flow that we continue to appreciate and enjoy. I have been pleased to work with Vanessa on three different projects to date. First, she designed a beautiful garden for our beach duplex which featured a gorgeous assortment of native plants installed in separate outdoor "rooms" that created private spaces for duplex dwellers to enjoy. The second project was a massive redesign of a bleak condominium parking area landscape. Vanessa did a great deal of research to design a garden for our challenging micro climate -- salt air, raging winds and hungry elk. The result is breath taking. Our final project was a smaller scale reworking of my daughter's front yard. Vanessa addressed the steep slope with a new, pedestrian-friendly walkway and entry porch surrounded by a mixture of colorful, low maintenance plants just right for busy, millennial newlyweds. These projects have taken place over the past ten years with budgets ranging from a few thousand dollars to nearly 60 thousand for the condo project. Vanessa is the consummate professional whose vast knowledge of all phases of a project (plant selection & design, hardscape, lighting & irrigation) is reflected in detailed, multi-page plans. She is engaging and fun! I would work with her again in a heartbeat!

My husband and I built a house recently and the builder left us with a muddy mess of a "yard." The HOA required us to have our front yard landscape completed in 6 months or less, and I started to panic. I have no clue about gardening! I just knew I wanted it to be beautiful, low-maintenance, and no lawn. A friend referred me to Vanessa, and in our very first meeting over a cup of coffee, I knew I could trust her 110%. She lights up the room with her super cheery attitude and is a fantastic listener. Vanessa doesn't impose her artistic vision on you; she grasps all your wants and needs. Vanessa is the entire package, and I can't tell you how relieved I am (over and over and over again!) to have her help. From the actual plans to advice and resources, there just is NO way I could have completed this project without her. The end results of my front yard are incredible. We have people drive by and tell us how much they appreciate our garden. They always comment on its beauty, a real "gardener's paradise," but they have no idea how easy the plants are that Vanessa chose! And I LOVE the fact that my yard is a million times better than all of the "basic" landscaper designs (sod and a few boring plants) that my neighbors have. Our front yard is practically a work of art! Vanessa is now collaborating with us on our backyard, and again, I can breathe a huge sigh of relief knowing that it's going to be a truly magnificent place to spend our time. Without hesitation, I recommend Vanessa!

Vanessa transformed our backyard from a rectangle with grass to a beautiful landscape that includes garden boxes, a water fountain, room for a trampoline in an area that helps it "disappear" from view, and a wide array of plants and trees. Vanessa planned it so that we have various things blooming in different seasons. She also consulted us on the best way to get rid of areas of standing water in our lawn and garden beds. She is very knowledgeable, patient and has a wealth of ideas and expertise to draw on. We highly recommend her.

Vanessa is an extraordinary person and a joy to work with. She listens to her clients and the result is that each job is an individual accomplishment, unlike some whose projects all look alike! I highly recommend Seasons Garden Design to everyone I know (and those I don't!)
