Eric was amazing to work with. We had a complete kitchen remodel. After our first meeting we received detailed plans which were executed to perfection. The house was cleaned professionally once the cabinets had been installed The contractors he provided were great to work with , they showed up when they said they would, and Eric was always available to answer any questions . The work was totally completed within 4 weeks, which was awesome We would definitely recommend his company to anyone looking to do a remodel.

It was an absolute pleasure working with Eric on my kitchen project! He transformed my original 1970's kitchen with an avocado green oven to a beautiful new space. I have a smile every time I walk in there! My kids love it, too, and they can even be seen cooking in the kitchen. Every trade used on the project handled their work with care, hard work, and efficiency. When the project started...it started! Eric's timeline on what happened when was handled with precision. I couldn't believe what a well-oiled machine this process was. It was amazing to see. This was a MAJOR project for me and a dream of mine for a long time. It was a pleasure to work with Eric and Southland Development. Immediately upon meeting, Eric had a vision for our project and provided solutions to meet our goals. He has a great relationship with all of his subcontractors, and does an outstanding job with logistics and scheduling everyone coming and going. There was not a single day during our project that someone was not working in the house and getting things done. To the amazement of all, our project was completed earlier than expected! The level of quality work is superior to most and the attention to detail was highly appreciated.

My husband and I have been wrestling with finishing our basement for a few years now. We first spoke with Eric during the pandemic, but decided to wait. He was extremely gracious then as well when we approached him this spring. Inflation had sent costs higher than we expected, but he was willing to work with us in order to land within our range. Southland was slightly higher than some other bids we received, but all of the individuals we knew who hired Southland had raved about their experiences; our experience was no different. We were so pleased with Eric’s communication and how quickly he was able to stack up the contractors to accomplish our goals. Like all construction projects, there were some minor miscues, but Eric was always quick to make it right. My father-in-law always says, “The quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten.” Southland may cost a little more, but the clear communication, quality of work, and timeliness of the finished project was well worth it.

Quick installation and very satisfied with the results. Crew was professional, efficient, and adaptable to changing schedules. Only delays were due to supply chain issues that everyone is dealing with. SDS made the process as quick and painless as possible.

Working with Eric and his team was the best home renovation experience I’ve ever had. My vision for our kitchen was based on a single picture from Houzz. Eric made this vision become a reality in the most seamless way possible. Our project was during the peak of the after effects of Covid on the supply chain. Eric did an amazing job managing our project in a way that caused the least amount of disruption and inconvenience to us. Because of the extremely long wait times for construction supplies and appliances, this efficient management was quite challenging, but crucial to our positive experience with Eric. Eric was reliable and without fail followed through on his promises. He was always willing to send his guys back if necessary, and he often came by himself to check on the project. Perhaps the most impressive thing about Eric is his patience and calm. I was a perfectionist with a picture…a dangerous combination! Eric was great about helping me source items, gently offered helpful suggestions, but always stayed committed to my vision. The result is a beautiful kitchen that exceeded my expectations. We could not be happier with our remodeling project from start to finish. Eric and his team were professional, responsive, informative, helpful, and reliable. We contracted with Eric and SDS to remodel our kitchen. Initially, we were pleased with the workers, the quality of the work and Eric was easy to work with. That was until we had an issue with the plumber (JCH Plumbing) that SDS engaged. Bottom line: we hired SDS as the General Contractor to remodel our kitchen, assuming they would stand by the work of the subcontractors they deploy on a project. One of the subcontractors installed a water connection that failed, resulting in nearly $10,000 in damage. The subcontractor and SDS claimed no responsibly for the failure. We cannot recommend working with SDS, because if there is a major issue, like this, you may not be able to get it fairly resolved. Can you risk that? If you want more details, see below. SDS hired JCH Plumbing for all the plumbing required on our renovation. A new sink was installed and ice maker was relocated, and all the plumbing had to be replaced and rerouted. When the island was being torn down, the water connections were somehow severed and water was spraying all through our basement, where the plumbing was located. Fortunately, that was fixed very quickly, limiting the damage. Also fortunately our basement is unfinished, however we have many items stored there. Fast forward 6 months. We were out of town for 2 days and when we returned home, we found our basement with inches of water and completely covered in condensation. The same fitting as the one fixed before had burst and was spraying hot water all over the floor, ceiling, walls, etc. We quickly called another plumber to come and replace the fitting installed by JCH Plumbing (Eric's Subcontractor), as an emergency fix. That certified plumber said the fitting installed by JCH, should never have been used. We engaged a water remediation service company, called an emergency plumber for services and had thousands of dollars in damage to our personal property. We reached out to JCH plumbing and Eric explaining what happened. They both came to our house and JCH Plumbing said they did not install that fitting and were not taking responsibility. We filed a claim against their insurance company as JCH fully acknowledged they did the work, but told their insurance company they did not install it. The claim was denied and when Eric was questioned by the Insurance company they told us, Eric said he could not say they installed the fitting. So, as it stands, this plumbing failure cost us $10,000, SDS did not help to find a resolution, nor offer any suggestion as to a resolution. A good GC also finds a way to satisfy their customer. We are not satisfied. When a project goes smoothly, that's easy, when its gets challenging, you need a GC you can rely on.

Eric has a focused objective to get each job done under budget and on schedule. My initial evaluation of Eric was spot on: he's trustworthy, methodical, honest, and reliable. By the end of our project, he was like family. Eric and his crew went above and beyond on every step of the process. We had a few emergencies early in the demolition process, and he was on call to help with each hiccup--no matter the hour. Eric even left another job to help us track down our nervous pup who went on her own whirlwind adventure (a first for him; unfortunately not for us!). He cared that our house was more than a dream house--but a complete home: functional for all members of our family. Eric and his crews take pride in the quality of their work: from painters and plumbers to electricians and carpenters. Each sub-contractor was creative and determined to give us a truly custom result. Eric is capable of coordinating each sub contractor to the optimization of the project. We had multiple neighbors remark how efficient the process was for our project. Eric and his team accomplished nearly an entire home renovation in less than 4 months--an impressive feat by any measure. I would recommend Southland Development Services to anyone in need of a home renovation--big or small. He was able to deliver our dream home from inspiration photos in record time. We will use Eric and his team again for all of our future projects!

Eric met and exceeded our expectations every step of the way. Our complete kitchen renovation was completed within the anticipated 4-5 week timeframe. Eric managed the whole project and was always available to answer my myriad of questions or set our expectations as to what the next steps would be. Eric and his team were incredible from start to finish throughout our home renovations. Eric communicated well with us throughout, was honest and treated our home like it was his own. On a personal note, one of our family members had a medical emergency on day 1 of demolition and I had to be at the hospital. He handled this with so much grace and went above and beyond in my absence. I appreciated his crew and their diligent work as we remained in our house throughout the time our projects were being done. They worked hard, paid close attention to detail, were efficient and respectfully cleaned their work zones each day. Eric has our highest recommendation! We love our new mudroom, laundry room and completely renovated master bath!

Eric and his team did a complete remodel of our primary bathroom, completely gutting our 15-year old bathroom to update it, complete with all-marble tile, a seamless glass shower, and soaking tub. We are extremely pleased not only with the end result, but also with the process. Eric gave us a fair and honest budget, which (despite our own choice of materials that took us over) stayed true to the end. Even more impressively, during a time when COVID has delayed everything in the world, Eric and his team delivered on time, and in fact would have been early but for a few COVID supply delays. Eric scheduled the work so that someone was in our house working every day, and people arrived right when Eric said they would, every time. His contractors and personnel were all professional and took care in our home. Whenever we had a question or follow-up request, Eric was prompt and did the work, no question and no charge. Our bathroom looks beautiful, and the process was seamless. We cannot say enough about SDS and Eric’s team — highly recommended for renovation work!
