Building Alchemy

We hired Timothy Vinson at Building Alchemy to rebuild a very complex, two story deck, on a hillside. As the project progressed we added additional work and he helped us update windows and doors to the deck which improved our access and use of the decks. We would not hesitate to recommend him and his company for any kind of remodel. We found his work to be meticulous and each member of his crew was as professional, reliable and easy to work with as he was. He is expert at problem solving and we could always rely on him orchestrate all of the work even while we were away.

As inexperienced first time home buyers with a young family, my wife and I purchased a "fixer upper" in San Francisco and sought out help to transform our tired 85 year old Marina style house to a contemporary and comfortable home that would work for a growing family. From our very first interaction, we found Timothy to be a highly responsive and personable professional who always gave us straight and honest answers. He was always willing to thoroughly and promptly answer all our questions, provide us guidance when needed, listen to our needs and desires, and provide us a solution we were happy with. While we had extremely high expectations, the work Timothy and his team performed always amazed us! Throughout our nine month down-to-the-studs reinvention project, the detail and quality of work performed by Timothy's team was always impressive. From restructuring our roof and sub-floor structure, to installing the finish door hardware, the attention to detail was always top-notch. On the very rare occasion when Timothy did not feel the work met his standards, he would re-do it (unprompted on his own accord) to ensure it met both our expectations. In addition to his crew, Timothy's sub contractors were just as polite, friendly, detail oriented and ensured they met the same high bar Timothy holds himself too. Just as with his customers, Timothy always treated his team with tremendous integrity and respect. Several of his sub contractors privately told me that working for Timothy is an honor that that they look forward to! Even through challenging times of two break-ins, a very unruly neighbor and an unpredicatable and unprofessional building inspector, Timothy always acted in a professional and responsible manner with the highest integrity to ensure everyone's needs were taken care of. Having had such a pleasant and positive experience working with Timothy, not only have we already recommended him to our closest friends and family, but he will be the only person we will consider for our future projects that we have already been thinking of!

Tim Vinson and his crew were the finest I have ever used in remodeling projects over many years and many different houses. They were always on time and left the site clean and all tools put away each day. Problems were dealt with quickly and Tim was on hand every day to supervise and always available by phone for questions. The 1974 original dreary condo kitchen was transformed into a stunning addition to my bayfront condo in Sausalito. No shortcuts or mistakes. I highly recommend Building Alchemy, you will not be dissatisfied or disappointed.

Timothy is by far the best contractor I've worked with on several remodeling projects. He is professional, reliable, creative, timely and always left the work site as clean as possible. Total remodel of kitchen, bath, livingroom and great room. On Budget, On time. I couldn't ask for more. We have remodeled 3 homes in the past and this experience was by far the best. I felt like These guys had my back with the city and other vendors we had to collaborate with. Extremely knowledgeable and connected in the industry. Everyone onsite was A+ both in professionalism and work ethic. All in all great job.
