When we chose a builder, we were looking for someone who could help us achieve our vision of award-winning updating to our beautiful 80 year old home in a stately neighborhood. Vujovich did that. However, what we didn't know at the time is how important the relationship would be over time. Nearly 9 years post-completion and as we move on to a new living adventure, I can honestly say Vujovich has been with us every step of the way. Design and build, then some additional projects (ad-hoc), connections to quality experts when we had to replace various aging parts of the home. Whenever we had questions or needs post build (including a formal 1 and 5 year check-ins), Chris and Vujovich were here to help. So grateful for the years of amazing design, flawless build, and post project partnership. Exceptional.

We worked with Vujovich to design and execute a major renovation of our home. The project included an addition to create a large new kitchen for entertaining, a mud room, a main floor powder room and an updated kids bathroom on the second floor. The design team did a phenomenal job translating our wishes and inspirations to create a modern and functional space that our family truly loves. The team was very transparent in how decisions would impact overall project budget so we could determine what we were comfortable moving forward with. It was a truly collaborative and consultative experience through the design process. When we moved to production phase, we had a phenomenal project manager who always kept us informed of the progress and next steps, he was quick to present us with timely and well thought out solutions to unexpected issues (which is par for the course when you own a vintage 1916 home). We especially loved how Vujovich incorporated many of the elements of our existing home into the new space - from the gorgeous beams on the ceiling to the chair rail in the entry way to the windows and trim. All of the subcontractors were kind and courteous and did quality work. We love our “new” home and would highly recommend Vujovich and their talented team to anyone and would not hesitate to work with them again on future projects.

Worked with Vujovich on a simple cabin design. They were professional, responsive, brought some great ideas and were fun to work with.

We recently completed a main level remodel, significant in scope, and couldn’t be happier. This was our first experience with a design-build firm, and we found Vujovich to be exactly as they promoted themselves … reputable. Their staff was attentive to our questions and concerns as we went through the entire process and project, and they quickly remedied issues as they arose. The craftsmanship of the Vujovich construction team was first-rate, and importantly, the quality of the various subcontractors (cabinetry, tile, paint, plumbing, electrical, fireplace) was excellent. It was clear they have a solid reputation with those firms. Also, the project management was really good as they worked through various delays associated with supply chain and labor-related shortages in 2022. They kept things moving along well, and we were always informed on scheduling.

We have completed two projects with Vujovich Design Build and are very happy with the quality of both the work and the staff. The design process was creative, detailed, and consistent with our budget. The employees and job supervisor were hardworking and respectful of our family, property, and timeline. They were responsive to any questions or concerns throughout the process- communicating regularly and honestly- design through completion. VDB is a company of integrity and we would welcome the opportunity to work with them again.

I am used to writing reviews when I receive excellent service, but in this case I am writing to save even one other person from the heartache we went through with Vujovich Design Build. Unless you literally have no budget, proceed very cautiously with these people. Make absolutely sure you get at least a ballpark estimate in writing before you go down the design hole with them. We had a healthy budget we were completely up front about from day one. They told us they wouldn’t know project costs until we selected an overall design concept and had subs come through and bid. They started billing us from the first time they came to the property. We were presented with three designs and selected the one that was clearly the least involved (thinking it would be the most budget-friendly) of the three- but still were not even provided even a rough estimate of a price tag when we asked. By the time we ever saw any costs for our project, we found out the price tag was 2.5 times our budget. We wasted a whole lot of our time and ended up losing thousands of dollars on design due to backing out for not being able to afford to have them build their design. They refused to take any responsibility for designing outside our budget, we lost months of time, and we have nothing to show for it. Very unethical practice.

We have worked with VBD for 30 years. They are professional, courteous and do an excellent job for both the homeowner and team members. Most of their employee's and subcontractors like us have worked with them for many years.

We’ve had the opportunity to work on some exceptional projects with Vujovich over the past few years. The Vujovich team, from the office to the field, have always treated their sub-contractors with the utmost respect. They always keep their clients’ best interests in mind when making decisions on a project, all while keeping the project on schedule and on budget. The Vujovich team continues to showcase their strong focus on quality craftsmanship in each of their projects. Vujovich is an outstanding remodeler, which is why we look forward to working with them for many years to come.

Vojovich did a complete kitchen remodel for us that included taking out a staircase and re-imagining a doorway. They were wonderful to work with, from contractors to project managers to the design team. Especially the design team! They were bright, professional, knew their material and how to work with the style of our home. As I would expect from any top-notch design/build firm they were attentive to detail, listened to our input/thoughts, and were prompt to respond to any questions or concerns that arose. They were very mindful of our budget, and deadlines. The end result is a fabulous kitchen that is in keeping with the architecture of our home.

Start to finish, Vujovich was the best. We had great communication throughout the entire process. They were so thoughtful when working for us.

I cannot say enough positive about my experience with Vujovich Design Build. All the work was beyond excellent with great attention to detail as well as the manufacturer's specifications and directions. The team had many good ideas and was more than willing to work with me regarding ideas of my own. The communication before, during, and following the job were outstanding. I am a very particular client and I was consulted every time any question arose. In addition, when subcontractors were used, they were excellent. At one point I did not care for the approach of an individual sub and requested that they be replaced. It was done the same day and I was consulted regarding what I was looking for in a replacement. They found a perfect match two days later. I literally inched into using a contractor because I had had such bad experiences previously. In the end, I gave Vujovich the entire job which was very close to a rebuild--windows, floors, raised roof, new kitchen, new bathroom, exterior siding, interior and exterior doors, furnace and AC. Everyone who visits the finished project comments on the quality and attention to detail. In addition, I acknowledge I am not the easiest person to work with because I ask a lot of questions and have a lot of ideas. I also make some changes in mid-stream. Everyone on the Vujovich team was exceptionally patient and very quickly understood how I like to work and made adjustments for me. Not too many people find such a large remodel “enjoyable,” but my Vujovich crew made the large remodel a fun and positive experience. In sum, I could not be more pleased or recommend Vujovich more highly.
