His Workmanship Landscaping

I hired this company for 3 hours work, 2 men to tear out my landscaping in the front of my house. It cost $250 extra to have them take the landscaping extras away in a truck. The day they came it was raining very heavily and it took their boss more than an hour to make up his mind that they would reschedule and they were going to charge me even more - not my fault it rained - so I said I would not pay anything extra and the boss should already have rain day situations covered anyway. One of the workers said he was quitting that weekend so wouldn't be there the next week and didn't want to say much more about why he was quitting. They came on the rescheduled day, and only took out 1/3 of what they should have. They worked so slowly it was disappointing to say the very least. And they do not have their own company truck - they rented a Uhaul pickup which I know does not cost $250 a day. The piddling work they did do was maybe 2 areas that were 5 X 10 feet. Don't hire them, it was a rip off and I am not happy, not happy about the total price, which was $570. How do I know they could have taken out the complete front area in that time frame? Because when I was younger and could so it, I used to work for a landscaping company. Save your money. I should have known better but they were the only company that called me back - but if I had that chance again, I would not hire them. Over priced, and they do less than they should in the time frame.

These guys are great. It was hard to find people readily available, and I came by His Workmanship. Worked with me to get scheduled and boom, these guys hit the ground running. They worked quick and were very polite and professional - great guys. The neighbors love how the new landscape looks!

tldr; don't trust the owner, Eric. Overall happy with the work the crew did, but just not worth the hassle of dealing with the dishonest owner Eric. I had just bought a house with a really overgrown side yard and wanted some help clearing out all of the weeds and overgrown plants. I didn't have a good sense of how long or how much work it would take, but Eric (the owner) recommended some services based on the photos I sent. Crew showed up right on time and got to work. They did a great job, and within just a few hours my yard was completely transformed. So happy with how it looks now even months later, and excited to start putting some work into it come springtime! My real problem with the services was with the cost. I had told Eric that I wasn't sure how much time to book for, so we booked for several more hours than it actually ended up taking the crew to finish the work in. The crew lead had me pay for the entire time booked, which contradicted what I thought the website said. Quotes from the website: "The hourly rate will begin once your crew arrives and starts working on your project. When your crew finishes to your satisfaction the clock will stop. Then the crew leader will come to your door and ask you to review their work. When you are pleased with the outcome, the crew leader will calculate the total hours and payment with you." This wasn't how it worked for me, and I paid a few hundred dollars more than I would have if I'd been advised to just book for a shorter timeframe. I tried emailing and calling Eric five times over the course of several weeks to ask about this to at least get some clarification on the pricing, but never received any response back. Pretty disappointed in this, particularly for a company that claims their mission "is to glorify God as we embody the gospel through our hard labor and our honest behavior." As of right now, I'll plan on going with another company for any future gardening work. The gardening they did was great, but not worth the hassle of trying to communicate with the crooked owner.
