FLORAL + HARDIE is Katrina and Mark Johnson… We are husband and wife, Mum and Dad to three quirky kids, and of course best mates. If we’re not tinkering away in our backyard shed, you’ll find us walking our dogs (or them walking us!), shooting hoops with the kids, camping by the ocean and going on little adventures in our tinny. FLORAL + HARDIE emerged from our shared passion for design and handmade objects. We are big believers in the idea of less house, more home. So we've set our hearts and hands to creating our own range of functional, handmade products. We aim to offer you an evolving, conscious collection that celebrates quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail. We hope you find something in the range that keeps you smiling for years, and helps make your house a home! More about the makers… Mark is a quiet achiever with a laid-back approach—nothing can ruffle his feathers. He’s a man of many talents and is trade-qualified as a Signwriter, and an Electrical Fitter/Mechanic. He’s also one hell of a welder! These skills inform his passionate practise as an inventor and maker. Mark thrives on taking an artisanal approach to making, and loves working with steel and timber. Katrina, on the other hand, could be likened to a mad professor—hundreds of ideas buzz and pop through her brain daily! Her diverse experience includes running her own gardening business, and designing and making a range of garden planters. She also had a crack at a carpentry apprenticeship once upon a time, which fuelled a love of fine craftsmanship. Katrina is inspired by mid-century architecture, and loves working in the garden. A devoted collector, her heart goes aflutter for objects with an interesting history or story attached. Katrina designs unique objects with a practical purpose, and enjoys working with paper, wool, timber and found materials.

Metalluxe offers beautiful soft furnishings and homewares for the budding homemaker right through to the experienced interior designer. Founded by Brodie Lockhart, after a decade long quest to build an strikingly individual style, Metalluxe is the crossroad between affordability and luxury. .

Fox & Fallow have a passion for high-quality, hand-crafted goods. Whether paper, timber or chalkboard, only the highest quality materials are used and each piece is unique, beautiful and made to last. High end design needn’t be expensive and should be available to everyone, which is why Fox & Fallow aims to produce gorgeous, affordable products that are accessible worldwide. Janet’s background is in graphic design and art direction. After 10 years in design studios and advertising, her passion for calligraphy, hand lettering and illustration drove her to create her own company where she could create beautiful, handcrafted products for those who share her love of design and typography. In partnership with Darrell’s passion for carpentry and hand-crafted goods (albeit a lawyer by day), Fox & Fallow could expand to include hand-made chalkboards and timber products with Janet’s hand-lettered artwork. Renowned furniture was founded some 30 years ago and had established itself as one of a few Brisbane based companies able to design, build & restore traditional furniture for the home. Since its sale to Dan Valmadre in 2012, the company has seen some change to its product offerings, its marketing and branding strategies, its staff profiles and its systems and processes. Renowned is now able to design and build both modern & traditional furniture and embraces the modern concepts of utilising all of the new and recycled composites that today’s client enjoys. Renowned is entering a new phase where modern technologies can and will be blended with the roots and traditions of the old company and its master craftsmen. The team at Renowned has remained strong and largely developed out of a search to find good people. We now have a new French polisher to work with our existing master and a change in the craftsmen too.
