“GT masonry rebuilt the dangerously uneven and deteriorated flagstone front porch steps (two sets). They added another step, making each step wide with easy and even elevations. He also replaced deteriorated mortar on the front walk, and set post support brackets for a railing. His price was very reasonable for the work and expertise involved. He was always on time whenever we agreed to meet and discuss the job. It was a pleasure to work with him. I am happy I had a chance to meet this fine craftsman and pleasant man. The work -- done by master stonemason Raul and sons -- turned out even better than we hoped, beautifully executed with bricks that make the wall look almost original to our 1930 home. Eddie was also tireless in chasing after DC authorities to get our plans approved and the job inspected. Long after the job was complete, he continued to contact city authorities to make sure the security deposit we paid to the city in order to undertake the job -- was returned to us. He had to work with the county for rebates they were offering. He made that easy. When it turned into more work than was anticipated, he did not come back wanting to raise the price. “I'm the Condo Board president of a small building in Washington, DC. I found Mid Atlantic Mailbox, Inc. through an internet search, b/c we were looking to replace our aging mailboxes. I stopped my search once I started dealing with this company, b/c their customer representative was so knowledgeable (as I'm not) and helpful, sending a couple options very quickly, and providing a proposal very soon after I sent them the measurements. Between the time I signed the proposal and had our mgt co send half the cost as a deposit and the time of installation we switched management companies. The new mgt co was expecting to have to coordinate with the Post Office, but Mid Atlantic handled all that seamlessly for the day of installation. We're extremely pleased with our new mailboxes. We did have to hire a contractor to frame them. Mid Atlantic would've provided a contractor to handle that portion, but we had already planned to have some significant work done elsewhere in the building. The only sour part of our experience was when Mid Atlantic tried to get us to cover the cost of a parking ticket the installer received. They said they do a significant amount of business in DC, and given how smoothly things went with the USPS, I believe them. Anyone with any knowledge of the Dupont Circle neighborhood is well aware that parking is a challenge. We had never promised a parking space, b/c in fact we do not have any to offer. Their installer's story differed entirely from what our management company representative told me, and it was just unfortunate that Mid Atlantic sought to be compensated in the first place. It was a learning experience for us, however, and in the future we will be sure not schedule something like this on a "street cleaning day" when you can't park at all on one side of the street.”

A retaining wall was the ideal solution but not within our budget at the time so we opted for sod. It has transformed the look of our front yard, making it look twice its size. We've received numerous positive comments from the neighbors. It's beautiful! -Mulched the side of our house next to a brick pathway and planted ground cover as there is a slight slope on the side as well. They also cleaned our side pathway which was covered in leaves and plant debris. Additionally, they trimmed trees, vines, and general vegetation overgrowth. Lastly, they laid a brick pathway that serves as a shortcut to allow us to walk from the sidepath of our yard to the front of our yard. What a difference this made! The job is pristine! It's refreshing to see not only all of the debris removed but beautiful ground cover too. -Seeded a vacant circle in our backyard where the former homeowners once had an above-ground pool. The grass is growing quickly and is filling in nicely. The job only took 2 days! Chris provided us with detailed instructions for easy maintenance moving forward. Horizon Outdoor Design made our lives so much easier! I highly recommend their services as you won't be disappointed.”
