“We first used Gill three years ago for a complete remodel of our bathroom, and after such a positive experience we went straight back to her for our much bigger kitchen renovation. Our bathroom was a really awkward space with a poor layout, boxed-in pipework and even carpet! Gill helped us completely rethink it, including knocking through into an old fitted wardrobe to create a walk-in shower. She planned the layout and helped us choose everything from tiles and lighting to the bath and fittings. Three years later, I still absolutely love it. She also persuaded us to include a bath when we were considering going without one – something I became extremely grateful for after we had a child! I'm incredibly indecisive with interiors, and Gill is brilliant at understanding the look I'm trying to achieve, narrowing down endless choices and confidently recommending what will work best. More recently, Gill has helped us transform our huge former living room into a kitchen/dining/living space. It was a major renovation involving building work, new windows and doors and a completely new kitchen. Gill was involved from the earliest planning stages, helping us explore different layouts and meeting builders with us before we'd even settled on the final plan. Her project management has been invaluable. She coordinated trades and suppliers, worked through the kitchen design with Howdens, organised ordering and measurements, and even brought samples to our house so we could see them in the space. The contractors she brought in for the main renovation were also fantastic. Gill took my Pinterest ideas and turned them into a beautiful, coherent room, while suggesting details I wouldn't have thought of myself. The finished kitchen is genuinely better than I imagined it would be. Gill is down-to-earth, patient, responsive and very easy to work with. After two major projects together, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her, and we'll definitely be going back to her for future projects.”

“Review of custom-built media unit and drinks cabinet from Newcastle Kitchen and Bedroom Company: After unsuccessfully driving round looking at just about every major furniture retailer in the Northeast for a new media unit for our living room, we visited Newcastle Kitchen and Bedroom Company having seen some of their lovely work on Instagram. I was both apprehensive regarding the cost of bespoke furniture and sceptical that we would find what we wanted. We were given a very warm welcome when we arrived for our appointment, Martin gave us a tour of the showroom and then discussed our requirements at length before making an appointment for around a week later to go through his design. We were both very pleased with his plan. Martin had captured exactly what we were looking for, so after a few days spent considering the final finish we placed an order. On the day of the installation our fitter Richard arrived around 8.30am as promised and after double checking our requirements, began the installation of the furniture. I was greatly impressed by the precise and careful construction of the various pieces they had brought. The separate cabinets are constructed at the factory but require final assembly and fitting on site. The materials used for the cabinets and drawer fronts are very solid and great care was taken to manoeuvre the various cabinets into position without damaging our existing decoration. We are genuinely delighted with the result and look forward to many years of use and would have no hesitation in recommending the Newcastle Kitchen and Bedroom Company, the whole team is very friendly and any query is dealt with very promptly and patiently. In fact we are so impressed that my wife has convinced me that we need a kitchen refit and are eagerly awaiting Martins design.”
