“We booked Rumi to oversee a project in our home in Bournville. In the grand scheme of things it was probably quite small: joining a living and dining room with a pocket door, and we initially approached her for a consultation without any real awareness of if we could afford her, what an interior designer actually does (!), anything really. She was wonderful from beginning to end. Always friendly, but also highly organised and professional, she was keen to stay within our budget, arranged for us to work with some excellent builders and suppliers, and had a number of practical and creative ideas to join and decorate the rooms in ways that made them more functional and significantly more beautiful. We're extremely pleased. We blew our budget in the end--entirely our fault and possibly everyone does--but couldn't be happier with the rooms. Certainly worth chatting to Rumi about what she might do for your project. We're very glad we did.”

“It was such a pleasure to work with Novo Design. I contacted Abbie as we were finalising our plans for a complete renovation of a large, old property in Derbyshire - to modernise, but retain character, and turn it into our 'forever home'. I had so many ideas - my Pinterest was out of control and I was overwhelmed with how to renovate and style the entire house, whilst ensuring that the spaces flowed well into each other. I desperately wanted to keep the character, whilst putting our own stamp on it, and I have a slight obsession with the Art Deco era. Enter Abbie and Reece... We started with chats and coffee, and immediately I loved the quiet leadership showed in both listening to my thoughts, eyeing up the house and its potential, and combining this with encouragement, ideas, alternatives and support. The professionalism, quality of content (scale drawings, room mock ups, mood boards/ samples etc) was incredible - yet all delivered with the ease and candour similar to that of an old friend. Their suppliers for things like curtains, cabinetry, artwork and furnishings were again professional and likeable, and such high quality. They also, critically, respected our budget throughout. The project was not without its challenges, spiralling supply costs in a post pandemic/ war-torn world and various delays and setbacks (nothing new there for a rebuild). More than anything I valued Abbie and Reece's support through this... flexibility with shifting dates, an ear when I needed to vent, and ideas when I was lost. Their input and support is what kept me positive through the most challenging parts of the build and, importantly, still enamoured with the plan. I am so proud of our home. It is unequivocally 'us', fitting our family's way of living like a glove. I continue to smile daily when I catch little details of greatness in the small things and will be forever grateful for Novo's help with it.”

She really understood my brief and sent a great range of fabric samples. The bespoke finish is excellent and the soft furnishings are perfect in my period home.”
