“Sockeye Homes did a wonderful job on our kitchen remodel. From start to finish, it was a fairly painless process. We had our cabinets and countertops replaced, along with lighting, appliances, sinks and hardware, gas fireplace, and the floor refinished. A lot of moving parts going on and naturally there were some delays but overall the job was finished on time. But what really stood out to me was the following: 1. Good communication with us from start to finish (schedule, costs). We knew what to expect and if there was a problem, presented it to us and worked with us to find an acceptable solution. 2. All of the people from management to workers seem to take the time to provide good customer service. You get the sense that this is the mantra from ownership on down. Customer comes first. 3. Tried to minimize the disruptions for us and always cleaned up the job site at the end of day. 4. Insured the subcontractors work met their standards. Oversaw their work. We are happy with the work done and would consider future work with them (bathroom remodel) and would be happy to recommend them to family and friends. Here is a picture of our kitchen. “We worked with Allison Lind Interiors when clients introduced us to their design team. The clients had recently purchased a recreational a-frame, aspiring to turn it into an adventure destination with modern comforts and all the quintessential cabin features - wood paneled interiors, stone fireplace, floor to ceiling windows overlooking scenic riverfront. We were initially nervous about working with a new-to-us designer whose team would be working remotely to create and communicate their vision. Their concept for the cabin intimidated us at first, with more meticulously planned details per square foot than any project we've undertaken. While we had no doubt they were a talented team, we were simply hopeful we could collaborate well. What unfolded exceeded our expectations entirely. Aside from design talent, what truly set Allison's team apart was their unwavering engagement throughout construction. Despite working remotely, they remained incredibly responsive, offering prompt solutions and genuine encouragement when challenges arose. This level of collaboration produced a space that offers countless moments of discovery—warm wood textures against clean modern lines, natural elements honoring the surrounding landscape, and thoughtful details that reveal themselves the longer you stay. “We are absolutely thrilled with the results of our remodel and could not be more grateful for the incredible work done by Mise en Place Design! Our home was built in the early 1980s and in desperate need of some updates. Mise en Place Design was recommended by a coworker of mine and, after looking at their client portfolio, I knew this was who we needed to hire for the job. Our project was extensive for a rather small home, involving many layout changes (completely reworking the kitchen design, moving the laundry closet into an expanded powder bathroom, moving and expanding the size of the range, moving our TV over the brick fireplace, raising two sunken living rooms, replacing all flooring and trim, the list goes on). We had the pleasure of working with Jacinda, who was personable, professional and had great attention-to-detail. She quickly caught onto our design style and the final product is such a good mix of modern, rustic, Pacific Northwest style. Mise en Place Design services were absolutely worth the cost. To be able to see renderings of your design and continue to make changes until you are certain you will love the result was invaluable. The final product is beyond our expectations – it’s functional, beautiful, and we repeatedly look around and say to each other “I love our house”. We had some unfortunate challenges with our contractor and some of the material suppliers during the construction phase of our project. Jennifer and Jacinda were responsive and helped us navigate these difficult situations and conversations. They were our advocates, and we were thankful we had them there to help us. Almost our entire downstairs was reworked with this remodel project. We have yet to tackle our upstairs but are very much looking forward to enlisting the services of Mise en Place Design again and working along side Jacinda to freshen up our bedrooms and bathrooms.
