Shields Residential Inc.
Palm Desert, CA Renovation Contractors
Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars21 October 2024
“Where to begin....the Shields team is absolutely incredible and my husband and I had a fabulous experience working with them. My husband and I have done renovations previously and this time felt totally different. Shields approach felt very unique in how organized, trustworthy and full service they are. They are incredibly professional, honest and skilled. The work that they execute is superb and they have such great knowledge of the build process and a great repertoire of tradespeople in the area. Whether you have experience in renovations or it's your first time, their team (project planning manager and project coordinator, Andreanna & Nate respectively) walks you through the entire process and makes it seamless which is very unique in this industry. They are reliable and make sure everyone is working at the highest level. The job site was always clean and tidy and their team keeps you updated on the progress of your project from the very beginning to the end. They use buildertrend which also helps keep everyone on track and you as a client, in the know with updated pictures, bids, change orders etc. As an interior designer, I can say that I would recommend their team to every client of our firm for projects big and small as I am confident that Shields team will do timely, reliable and beautiful work. Not only that, they are the nicest people and easy to work with. They are the team to pick! I couldn't recommend them more highly.”

Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars29 June 2022
“Over the past 3 years, I have had Sol Cal Construction do 3 majir projects at my condo. Each project was completed on time with professional service and with mindful consideration of my budget. It has always been a pleasure to work with Loren and his crew. He is my "go-to" contractor for any future projects because I am confident the work will be a job well done.”
Mafcohouse
Palm Desert, CA Renovation Contractors
Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars31 July 2017
“If you want a modern building with clean lines, low roof lines, and modern style, Mafco is for you. Enjoying the look and feel of Modern architecture, with floor to ceiling windows, wide views and lots of light AND building a Modern building from scratch that delivers on that are two different things. I hired Mafco house (Dan and Dianne) because their portfolio demonstrated to me that we shared the same taste in contemporary design, but also that they had the experience I needed to help me build a water access cottage. The final product was precisely what I wanted. I was, and am, impressed by their knowledge and attention to detail, having built many projects they have clearly ironed out their own best practices and I was able to to tap into that experience when making design decisions. Where they really shined was on service. Everyone has had, or heard of the spotty reliability of designers and contractors once the cheques have been paid. That was not my experience with Mafco. Mafco made several trips to my site to look at the landscape and topography during the design phase, they were on site for the delivery of their product, and they even come back three years later to help fix up small issues with a job by a 3rd party contractor. They are not a general contractor, but Mafco truly is a full service design group that has left me extremely satisfied with building my dream cottage, and the design/build process was an unforgettable adventure.”
