Shelley did quite an extension re-design of our home- dining room, living room, foyer, kitchen, two bathrooms, office and master bedroom. Everything turned out great! We get tons of compliments on how fresh and sophisticated our home looks. Shelley was really great at helping guide us and made wonderful suggestions to save us money and time. Shelley has been a big help in assisting me with design ideas. Wanting to design my own home office, that captures my personality and flair, is important to me. Shelley has been of great use in helping me to achieve my design goals.

We gave Shelley a big challenge and she, as the design professional that she is, really delivered a wonderful home for us. My husband and I had lived in our large family & kid friendly home for over 25 years and raised our three children there. We were ready to downsize to a small upscale new-build condo. On top of that we each had different style preferences. My husband preferred very traditional and I preferred a more contemporary look. Shelley worked with us every step of the way for over a year while our condo was being built. She helped us to decide which of the pieces that we already owned would move to the new home and which to let go for someone else to love.In selecting new furniture, lighting fixtures or hard surface finishes, her advice was invaluable. In our new home, that we both love, we have some beloved pieces that have been with us for many years or have been collected on our travels and some wonderful and unique new pieces. When our guests come into our home for the first time, without exception, the word that they have for us is WOW!

We hired Shelley to help us with a major living area and kitchen renovation and it was the single best decision we made on the project. Our home was built in 1987 and badly needed a renovation just to retain its functionality, let alone meet our changing needs. The scope included our living room, stairs, and opening up the dining area to the kitchen. I can’t imagine spending countless hours, over a year of planning, decision making and hard work, not to mention another mortgage worth of financial commitment, without having confidence in the finished product throughout the process. Right from the start, we had peace of mind, knowing that we had the right plan and the necessary professional guidance to execute it properly. We removed walls, removed and added doors and windows and completely reconfigured the room layouts to create an open space. It had to be comfortable, easy to live with, durable and must accommodate our growing family for family gatherings. Resale value was another important consideration for us, so the reno had to also be attractive to potential future buyers over the longer term as well. It wasn’t an easy process for us, but Shelley challenged us, opening our minds to new ideas while making sure the design choices we made were consistent with our goals for both functionality and an ideal match for our personal tastes. Now that the project is complete we couldn’t be happier with our renovation. We can say that the end result exceeded far beyond our expectations, beyond what we could even begin to imagine at the start. This was 2nd time we hired Shelley. This time we moved from house of 42 yrs to condo .Using her creativity and unique vision, she managed to expand our storage space, give us and office and place for visiting grandchildren to play and sleep, while allowing us to keep much of our beloved furniture and nicknacks. The condo was transformed into our unique living space. She also handled condo staff and rules flawlessly. She was flexible in allowing us to do some work ourselves and employing workmen when necessary, who were excellent, on time, and polite. Our concerns mattered to Shelley. She has been consistent in insuring our materials were as specified and work was on budget and on time. Her competence and gracious manner, backed by skill and artistic insight were invaluable.

We had worked with Shelley Scales on two previous projects: she designed our new kitchen as well as a basement suite and laundry room. As we were very pleased with how those projects turned out, we chose her to design the renovations of our main bathroom and en suite bathroom. At the start, these spaces were essentially as they had been originally created in our 43 year old home. Taking into account our tastes and general goals, she created beautiful designs which make the rooms look more spacious, bright and at the same time functional and easy to maintain. She worked very efficiently, meeting the deadlines she proposed and keeping track of the myriad details required to complete the project in a timely fashion and within budget. She worked very well with the contractor and suppliers to move the project along as efficiently as possible and dealt quickly with any complications which arose.
