Beautiful and uplifting! Thanks!

What gorgeous photos and I can just feel like I am there in each one! Smelling the grass and the cool breezes as fall rolls in. I can smell the cooking with the fruit and smelling the salt at the beach with the sound of the waves breaking. The beautiful trees and flowers! Thanks for sharing all of these lovely and uplifting photos!!

I am in the camp of of recessed lighting as the pendants make the space look busy and closed off. I had the same sort of situation in my apartment and tried various pendants and in the end decided it looked better without them.

I vote no on any pendants over an island. They interfere with the visual space. I'd replace with recessed lights.

I love that laundry room with the simple but stand out pendant light. The potted plants and greenery at the window brings so much life and charm into the room!
Thanks for sharing all of these great photos. How fun to get to take a look inside your neighborhood homes!

It's 1:30 am where I am, can't sleep. And WOW! I'm so glad opened this thread! Now I can go to bed and dream of these lovely rooms.
Thank you, Mtn!

Oh, thank you for taking pics! Love seeing inside these homes. So much to love. Love the 1st kitchen with the moon shape island. Genius. And that wall of glass. Just beautiful. Also, that laundry room! I don't like the red w/d and not a fan of stacked appliances, but having all that room is a dream.
I don't love the 2 fireplaces, but it reminded me of someone I follow on IG who just bought a home they are starting to renovate. The family room has a central fireplace with brick or stone (don't remember) to the ceiling with built ins on either side. They are removing the builtins. She showed a few options of what they are considering. Of course the TV over the fireplace was one choice. My favorite was putting 2 low consoles on either side of fireplace and a TV (probably frame TVs) above each one. For sports watching families (which they are) it's the perfect solution. We are a huge sports watching family and I would 100% do that if I had the space for it. I do have a central fireplace with brick to ceiling but I have windows on both sides that I wouldn't want to remove. But man would I love more than 1 TV!

I have been through this same situation and added a big tip and later was speaking to a friend who reminded me that you don't tip your gynecologist, primary care physician or the an RN who draws your blood etc. I hadn't stopped the think of it that way.

Tacky Tacky Tacky! I agree!
I once had a property manager that for Christmas added a $250 charge, labeled "cost of doing business increase" to my bill I owed her...just for the month of December! That's illegal BTW. I called and told her I did NOT agree to that charge...she said "the charge stays"....I got rid of her.
All industries want tips...but....I'm not going there.

It feels like everytime I make a purchase outside of a grocery store, gas station, or ecommerce there's a default tip set up on the machine. I do typically tip my hair stylist, but thankfully don't need many haircuts per year. I also tip my massage therapist even though it's her own business. I hate tipping on any kind of counter service or takeout, but sometimes feel like I have to if it's a business I frequent.
I just returned from Amsterdam and I was quite surprised to see tip showing up on many of those transactions as well. It wasn't clear what was considered appropriate. I felt comfortable giving cash tips to tour guides who really put their heart into the work, but was surprised to see tip on the machine at cafes and restaurants when I'd always read that tipping was primarily something that was expected in the USA due to below minimum server wages.

Ha! I recently had to drag, then change to a back and forth rock/spin motion to get a 40" x 18" ish square box from carport into the garage. Luckily our handyman/electrician/friend came to work for us one day this week. We always knock out a Honey Do list in no time.
Don't you just love when a few changes and additions in your home make it feel "new" and more loved?! I don't blame you for not wanting to take up the tile. It is such a loud and messy job. The sisal rug is a good choice.

Your home is so warm and inviting! I love everything about it. I could stare and find so many things to look at in each room! Such chartacter and charm. Perhaps you have a spare room that I could come and live in!

Went down the rabbit hole of Macy Blackwell's TT. Where do they store all of the holiday decor?! I do like this, but we don't have trick or treaters. Actually haven't in our last three houses.
I thought this ghost made from a tomato cage, styrofoam ball and lights was cute. (Macy had +/-50 ghosts inside her house.) Add pool noodles to make arms/life out fabric. I could do without all the black decor in the OP's linked article.

ETA: I don't have a TT account, just followed from article. But she has an IG as well. It's too much for me, but she does have cut Halloween Barbie collection. LOL

Yay that you’re back. and fun seeing your new art projects! I really like your very first attempt the most. Keep it up and keep sharing.
Wow! I adore the landscape and can't believe it is your first one. You've got talent, girl!
These are lovely, Amy. You are very talented.
