“My wife and I were looking to renovate our newly purchased condo apmt and wanted to engage an ID firm to help us design and renovate it. After doing a lot of research and reading up, our first stop was Starry Homestead because somehow this firm's name kept cropping up due to it's many good reviews! We were assigned Jason Lim and were impressed with his enthusiasm and eagerness to help us design and create our dream home. He patiently listened to our ideas and concepts, which were very confusing as we didn't even know what theme we wanted. However Jason didn't flinch and came up with a few design concepts for us to consider. We left after a couple of hours and then thought perhaps go to other ID firms to explore more options. However we felt very comfortable with Jason and decided to go back to him to discuss further after a week. During this week Jason didn't hound us or do any hardsell, which was surprising. After this 2nd visit, we were sold. Jason didn't come back to us because he was busy doing up more design concepts and ideas to present to us, even though we didn't indicate at all that we would be back. That made us appreciate there and then that we may have finally found our ID, and we were not wrong. Jason isn't the type that just listens and gives in to your design ideas especially when it is not feasible. That would be a red flag that the ID wasn't interested. During the 2 months of design discussions, he would offer ideas and at times even educated us on why some of our design ideas weren't feasible. We learnt a lot from him. He also followed us to various shops to buy lightings, accessories and tiles etc for the renovation. During the renovation process I must say I have never met such an "on the ball" project manager. Scheduling for all the different contractors involved was impeccably done with timing all fixed and fulfilled. Jason would update us of the progress almost everday and our handphones would be bombarded with progress pics, even when he was on leave! His response to our questions were very prompt and he would get down to action immediately. We were very impressed with his management skills. What impressed us most was he would sometimes without hesitation get his hands dirty to do minor rectification works like painting patches before the painter came cos he just wanted it done. We even spied him once cleaning our glass stove! That is what Jason is, a committed and responsible ID. We were indeed very blessed to have gotten Jason as our ID, and in the end we got our dream home and right on schedule. Things did not stop there. Jason continued and still continues to ask whether everything was ok and would arrange for us anything we wanted done. I have run out of thumbs to give him enough thumbs up.”
