Pool Refurbishment - Case Study 4 - BEFORE

On meeting the clients for the first time they told me that whilst their liner pool was functioning they did not like the aesthetics of the liner pool and wanted to move the above ground safety cover into a pit.

The client wanted to transform his tired liner pool into a tranquil pool for the family to use. He wanted a larger step area for his youngest child to play in and a powerful counter current for older children and adults to swim against. The old fibreglass steps and liner were removed and replaced with modern rectangular steps and a fully mosaic tiled pool. An instant updated look from the 70’s style roman end.
When we built the steps in the shallow end of the pool, the second tread was made 1m wideto allow for the younger children in the family to play on and we put the returns in the riser of the top step to create a little more fun with the flow of water.

The family also wanted a counter current for the older children in the family and after discussions with us decided on the Fastlane, which since installation the children have used constantly and have had hours of fun and exercise from.
Many different tile options were shown to the clients and after many discussions they decided on the Magalia glass mosaic tile which compliments the twilight coping stones and the twilight steps within the pool.
