This outdoor swimming pool was installed in the back garden of our client's house in the south of France. It is a deck level pool, which means that the water level sits around 10 to 20cm below the pool surround and has skimmers that take in the surface water where most of the pathogens/nasties live. It has a liner, which reduced the building costs significantly and which was made to fit the particular shape of this pool. The steps are set back into a round alcove on one side so as not to obstruct lane swimming.
In the pictures you can see a fence surrounding the pool – In France there are particular rules and regulations regarding swimming pool safety, which require every pool to have either a fence surrounding it, a cover, or an alarm system. There are no such rules in England, but it is worth looking into Swimming Pool safety if you are interested in building one, especially around young people. Depending on your project we will be able to advise you on the best way to keep your pool safe.
The total cost of this pool was around 40,000 Euros.
