Cleaning pool filter

Does your pool filter look like this after it's been back washed. It seems that this is "too dirty" after being back washed 3 times. Wondering if normal or something wrong.

DE filters do not backwash clean.
That is why you have to break them down and clean them occasionally.
Looks like algae on there as well.
Need to take the whole thing apart to clean all sides, can cheat and just clean the outside.

You need to watch the operational pressure of the system. Clean the filter manually and record the "clean operational pressure" of your pool installation. Once this pressure climbs 7-10 psi above the clean level then you know it is time to clean the filter again. Max normal pressure in a pool system is 30 and the never exceed safety value for most equipment is 50 psi. Very late to the party here, but this pool filter cleaning guide might be of help to anyone else who needs it.
