Integrating balcony with the living room
Comments (6)I will include the picture once I collect the keys to the apartment. The apartment is 1400 sq ft. and it is located on the 16 th floor. The living room and the balcony floor is at the same level. The French doors, which I intend to remove, separate and protect the living room from the open balcony. But the current owner had installed aluminum casement windows at the balcony. These windows I think will provide sufficient protection from the elements, hence the idea of doing away with the French doors. The authority would not allow us to remove the three feet high concrete wall of the balcony. The idea of the platform (a) to differentiate the living room/balcony boundary, (b) to raise the floor height so one can drink tea at the balcony and admire the view too....See MoreHelp executing this idea..
Comments (9)I think the block of wood idea would be good and then you could play around with the wire to get something that will stand without attaching to anything. Then decorate the wire the ones in the pic are also attached to the ceiling which is probably not a good idea in a rental, drill the holes after you have decided on wire....See Morebig trench on my balcony
Comments (6)Your beautiful balcony that you own has a planter box (trench). You could either plant in there and give yourself some privacy from prying eyes or you could install decking to the area and have more space for your furniture layout. Another option is to create a bench but do be aware if you have children or are planning for the future....See Moreneed help on kitchen island
Comments (11)Hi, I am currently renovating my kitchen. Pictures of my tiles are below. I love wood grain cabinets. However, i am at odds as to whether I should get wood grained or solid coloured laminates. My designer told me that I can only choose from Arova n Jennings brand. He does offer EDL as well. But I do not like the solid colours from any of these laminate companies. A solid black colour will leave finger print marks easily. And I think grey is going to make my kitchen look monochromatic which I feel might get boring overtime. Some advice is really needed....See Morephotochar
