Beautiful job. One question: is that brick on the stove backsplash? It looks great but it would be hard to clean. Is it coated somehow?

The backsplash is the original coal burning chimney. It has several finish sealing coats on it, and a powerful exhaust range hood to help keep grease at bay!:)
