How is the wood siding secured. Doesn't look attached to house because of stucco. Wood posts?

    I would venture to say that the projecting wood arbor is secured to the ceiling joists that are protruding from the wall 2' or so.

    Hes not talking about the arbor. I am also interested in siding my house this way. The building on the right has a wood cladding that looks to be mounted on studs, but are the studs fastened to the stucco behind it?
