High ceilings and water reflection and grey days -- what is best color for Hood Canal waterfront?

Don't have the actual color on file. Archived. It was a light tan to khaki. I suggest you get a fan deck from your paint supplier. Scott McClendon in Belfair can help you there. Don't be afraid to go deeper in color especially if you are on the South Shore. Darker and in flat to eggshell to minimize sheen so will absorb some of that afternoon glair.

Thanks for your information. I'm in Hansville so will check with Benjamin Moore in Poulsbo. I face west over Hood Canal. Afraid of dark gray winter light.

Congrats on your new flat. Love the fun and playful kitchen - way to go using color. Gray, white and red can then be used throughout your small space, though in different measure. Perhaps a pale gray painted bedroom - bm moonshine with all white bedding, layer in a charcoal chair and throw, art with red. All white bath, red towels. Living room gray upholstery, multicolored rug with red in it - modern graphic style. Mid-tone gray walls - match your countertop to make it cozy, but use an ikat print at the windows with white and gray and red. The whole thing will flow beautifully.

The color will be fine, but put up samples of the sheen to make sure you're really on board. Among other things, the more sheen, the more obvious any flaws.

Hi Yuxian! Think about what style you're going for as you would want your paint colours to complement the furnishings to come. Also, what mood do you want to create for your whole house/each room? For instance, yellows are uplifting and cheery while greens are usually restful. Browse online for 'paint colour ideas' and save a collection of photos that appeal to you. You're likely to find great decor ideas at the same time! With that particular part of the house pictured above though, my advice is to make the most of the precious daylight coming through that window (there's just never enough sunlight in my flat! RIP, all our plants that once lived) and have this room painted in lighter hues. It's uplifting stepping in to a bright and airy home. Ultimately, follow your heart and if you love a colour, choose it!
