Deodorize my house!

Hi Houzzers!

I have a bit of a dilemma.

I am new to apartment living and bit of a clean freak, however I've realised when cooking some particular foods the smells linger around my home. I do the usual things of keeping my windows open when I cook, using air fresheners etc but sometimes it still lingers a tiny bit and air freshers can mix so it does not really help.

How do you guys get rid of unpleasant smells in your beautiful apartments. Any natural/organic ways? Natural wax candles? lemons?

I'm a bit of a candle fiend, but I also always open my windows as soon as I get home. This can be a bit trickier in Winter, admittedly.

I also always have my windows open- fresh air is a must for me! But I have heard that keeping open containers of baking powder around the kitchen and neutralise PH levels and cut through bad smells..haven't given it a go myself- but may be it is work a try!

I couldn't agree more! Coming home to a clean house puts a smile on my face. Cleaning a little bit everyday takes less effort than one big sweep. Eg; cleaning mixing bowls and utensils as you brown the onions can save yourself a huge clean up at the end. You also get to enjoy your meal a lot sooner too :)

I'm also a big fan of candles- but fresh flowers are best!

Put the fan on and place mood reeds in the middle of the room. They do wonders!
