Can electricians wear jewelry?

This is from my "question I'm embarrassed to ask people I actually know" files. LOL Since electricians are often dealing with, well, electricity, are they able to wear metal jewelry or is it dangerous?

    I imagine that most things that would be dangerous to touch with a metal ring would also be dangerous (lethal?) to touch with a bare finger...

    Most electricians do not wear jewelry / wedding rings. I know know an electrician that actually had a tattooed wedding band on his finger instead of a ring which is kind of cool. Cheers !
