Oak would definitely be my choice due to colours, grains etc.

Oak is a classy timeless solution and is hard wearing, versatile as it can be both traditional and uber contemporary.

I had a beautiful pine parquet floor in an Edwardian house. Unfortunately the dog´s claws made dents all over it, so it has to be oak for me.

I love my heart pine floors. Yes, they're softer than oak but I appreciate the character they acquire over time.

Definitely Oak. Pine is cheap and nasty.

Thank you Southernpointofview for the images!!

Yes, Oak is a stronger species but Pine is also great for domestic interiors with low traffic areas or cladding in general.

We personally love both, the patinas and finishes they provide are, as Ruth said, Timeless!

Thank you for the great answers so far!!!

Oak for me, very versatile and hard wearing, looks good almost everywhere in a property.

    Thank you, Mathew.

We agree with you. Oak looks great everywhere and is very easy to combine.
