Screens to 'zone' spaces — thoughts?

I love the idea of using a screen of sorts to separate or zone an otherwise open-plan area. Something intricate like the image below just adds a whole other element of interest that I also enjoy.

What do you think of screens to zone areas?

    I really enjoy screens that area off certain zones like between the dining room and lounge room above. They can be so beautiful and simplistic at the same time.
