Modern has no soul! Shaker is much more homely, without being twee :)

Our 125 year heritage tells us that the handle-free kitchen design simply cannot be put into the modern category. We convey this to be "timeless" rather than "modern" as we have produced handle-free kitchens since the 60's.

But to answer your question - it would seem a high percentage of our customers take the clean, linear and minimal look. (even though we do a shaker style range)

We find shakers still popular if painted, not many wood shakers around, but the handleless modern kitchen in both gloss and matt are very popular.

Both styles are equally popular with our clients. Personal preference for me however is for the flat doors of a modern kitchen. Great combination of graceful lines and easy to keep clean.

I like the shaker style kitchen as it is a lot easier to live with and also warmer. The shaker design will also be around for many years to come. Why not go handless shaker which makes it look a bit more modern.

I love both, and they each have their good points and are suited to different settings.

As a designer, though, I often prefer the Shaker designs - I don't know why, but they often seem to provide a bit more scope for creativity!

In this particular picture I prefer Shaker Kitchen BUT - in life, it would depend on the interior architecture...sometimes you just walk in the space and get a feel what would work best!
