Staining cypress pine floors.

Hi all. Hoping for some advice. We are embarking on a renovation of our house which will include extending the kitchen into the existing outside deck space. The new deck will then extend out into the yard. This means laying a new internal floor to make the kitchen space bigger. We will have to sand the entire house floor back anyway, but because we have never been keen on the light colour of the cypress pine floors, we were thinking of staining it a darker shade, then oiling or resealing. Not sure how well this timber stains up. Any ideas or comments welcome. Cypress pine tends to have a lot of dark knots in it.

Thanks for your help!

As long as you go darker they stain beautifully however the darker you go the more fluff and dust that shows. Get the sander to do a trial run first
