Soothing bedroom...color suggestions please
Comments (10)Just wondering what is the current wall color? Looks lavender. I'm not a fan of accent walls in a bedroom. To me a bedroom should be relaxing and varying wall colors seem stimulating by their very nature (think they're great in other rooms though). But if you want to do one, I would do as you suggested, the wall where your headboard is located. Figure out what you want to keep (sounds like the headboard and the red chair are definitely staying), then work around that. I think cool greys are very pretty and a wonderful neutral that work would work well with your headboard and chair. Then you could bring in the other colors you like through bedding and artwork. If storage is an issue, can you get some bins on wheels for beneath your bed? Also can you consolidate all those smaller tables and get one larger table/storage piece in its place? I would check out IKEA if it's in your budget. Also given the size of your bedroom, if possible I would go with simple curtains that are the same color as your walls. Good luck!...See MoreDesigning my living so I can come home and say WAAAH I did IT!
Comments (2)Congrats on your new flat. Love the fun and playful kitchen - way to go using color. Gray, white and red can then be used throughout your small space, though in different measure. Perhaps a pale gray painted bedroom - bm moonshine with all white bedding, layer in a charcoal chair and throw, art with red. All white bath, red towels. Living room gray upholstery, multicolored rug with red in it - modern graphic style. Mid-tone gray walls - match your countertop to make it cozy, but use an ikat print at the windows with white and gray and red. The whole thing will flow beautifully....See MoreTheir Stories Behind Our Story - before and after!
Comments (2)Constance and the Creative Mind Design team, you've done an amazing job in restoring a heritage house, and shining a light on a precious family story! The original house is clearly well built for the environment: large overhanging roof, windows tucked neatly under. Love the rusticated exterior and the big arches in the porte cochere too. Haunted only to those who don't know the story! I also love that the original house has been updated to serve the needs of the current, without forgetting the past. Those pink mosaic tiles and wrought iron grilles fit in very nicely in the new house. The airwell seems to bridge the new and old worlds perfectly too....See MoreBedroom plants, can or cannot
Comments (7)Well, they aren't wrong about plants competing with you for oxygen, but research have definitely shown that there are in fact plants that are recommended to be placed beside your beds for better sleep! Air purifying plants not only absorb odours and moulds that can impact breathing and lung health, they also beautify your place and makes you feel at ease ;) Plants recommended for aiding sleep includes jasmine, lavender, snake plant, aloe vera, spider plant, english ivy, peace lily and golden pothos (money plant, as recommended above). They are also shade-loving plants, thus are most suitable for bedrooms. One of the convenience of having plants in your bedroom, in my opinion, is that they benefit from air-conditioning! I do have marble queen pothos, philodendrons, snake plants and peperomias right beside my bed and I probably only water them once every week (some even lesser than that!). It really shows that you don't necessarily have to water them daily ;)...See MoreMacik Custom Woodworking & Contracting, LLC
