A wonderful transformation! I haven't heard of an insulated timber cladding before. Would you have any details on same? Many thanks.

Thank you for your kind comments Faith. The cladding used is Western Red Cedar and it has been stained with Sikkens' water-based stain in ebony. We developed our own detail to achieve a high thermal performance for the walls.

Ah I thought it was a insulated cladding product that was available off the shelf. I have been developing something similar with a series of OSB fins which are fixed to and extend out from the wall between which I will insulate and then add horizontal battens to allow for vertical cladding. I've been wondering about doing the burning technique on the cladding or just letting it naturally silver with age... your work completely transformed this house.
