Want plants/flowers around pond, but not in ground, pots maybe?

We have a koi pond with rocks around it, and a small waterfall. Can't put the plants/flowers in the rocks, but was thinking about some kind of pots, I think it needs greenery. Have a hard time with plants in pond because it's mostly shade. Any ideas are a great help. Thank you

Hi Lexiek, thanks for your inquiry about aquatic plants for ponds. Most require sun to do well. You could try iris, variegated sweetflag, taro, cardinal flower, water mint, arrow arum to name a few. Some plants that are very (too) aggressive in full sun will be able to keep under control in shade. More info on Aquatic plants here: https://www.acornponds.com/aquatic-plants.html

Thank you very much, and yes shade is a problem . But, will check out these plants and you have beautiful pictures on your site. Here's a picture of last year, but adding/changing things this year. One thing is adding the creek rock where the mulch is and the white rock. Also, have to move hostas around. Thanks again for some advice.
