Any ideas for the exposed backside of the cabinets?

I placed a few IKEA PAX wardrobe units side by side in order to divide my very large bedroom (with no closet space) into a smaller bedroom and walk in closet area. It's working out well however the back of the PAX units have an unattractive particleboard backing which is currently exposed. I considered wallpaper but I don't think it will look too good over time especially if the rough seams pop through. I am now considering putting a row of barn doors on a rail up against the back to hide it but saw your photo and wanted to see if there was a simpler solution.
