How can I have this kind of backsplash in India, Pune?

What kind of backsplash is this? Is it glass?

Do we get it in India(I am in Pune).

Any merits de-merits of this for Indian type of cooking? Overall I am quite careful about usage, so can I use?

If not available, any other options to have this clean seamless look?

Yes it is a lacquered glass. It is also called back painted glass. It should be easily available at nearby glass stores against order.

For being extra careful we do not use it in 2ft area next to cooking hob but many people do use it end to end.

yes its backpainted glass...for backsplash u'll have to use toughened glass which is stronger & avoid behind hob.

You could use acrylic sheet as a backsplash. It gives a similar effect.

It’s is back painted glass. As a back splash it can be used as it’s easy to clean and maintain.
    Highly recommended to be toughened.
The entire back needs to be cladded in waterproof plywood and then the glass is stuck on to it with special adhesive or silicon gel.
Any reservations on using plywood then you can opt for WPC ( wood plastic composite ) which is alternative to play and is totally termite-water proof.

Very informative details @GJ Studio and @Abhijeet Keer!

Was not aware that it needs special installation, Thanks

Also the input of flat panel shutters is useful.

Any idea, how much should it cost including material for installation? The normal tiles cost 100Rs/sq. feet. If I consider 6X2 ft area, how much will this cost?

    Creative Creaturz,

Prices vary depending upon specification but including installation bare minimum should start from 400 per sft and go upwards .

you can put it right across your burner. I have clients using the same with no complaints. Use toughened back painted glass with good quality. Backpaint should be of good quality in PU or it may go off within few years.
