How did you support the stone for the span on the kitchen island?

Did you have a subframe mounted underneath to support the length of the stone? We have had 3 different countertop firms tell us we need to support it with some sort of metal subframe. What is the total length and width of this island? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

It has been a while but we had metal legs custom built but used adjusting feet on the bottom. Marble top. Glued at top as I remember. See Heritage Home project. We had a u-shaped leg with turned in feet. All one piece. Made it after ctop installed. Quartz.

Trying to do the same as you did on the project. Do you remember if metal was steel or aluminum? Thanks for your help!
