Layout dilemma: Couch arm next to wall? Y/N?

What do we think about having an arm of the couch very close to the wall? We have our open living room accessible currently from either side of the sofa but my husband is sad that he can’t fit on it when he lays down. If we get the size he wants it will eliminate access from one side. Is this a layout faux pas? Photos from the interior define AR app show the sofa size my husband wants (83”) - they are not 100% to scale.

    I think it's fine. I think lot's of layouts don't allow for a pass through on both sides of a sofa.
