The wall colour is a Haymes paint in a matt finish. Colour Blackberry which is a deep aubergine and definitely not black. Skirtings in Dulux Enamel Lexicon Half

One more question: If I use white shutters, does that mean I have to also have white doors inside the house? Should the internal doors match the window frames or the shutters? There will be a slide and fold door between the living room and an ante-room, which will be of glass with upvc frames; my furniture in my living room have dark brown cane frames, and I have a black antique Chinese lacquer screen, on which are various colours of jade pieces, and a large opium bed of dark mahogany, and also a black grand piano, and the floor is a honey brown Thai Teak on which would go a couple of Persian rugs.

I think if you select a wall color that is too well coordinated to the tile, it will only bring out the vibrant pattern in the tile. So pick colors you like. Let your personal style and the vibe of the rooms dictate the colors. Your walls, furnishings and accessories will take center stage so you won't really notice the tile. Area rugs will down play the tile too. Ceilings are a great opportunity to add color also.

Here are some Benjamin Moore colors that look close to some of the tones in the tiles: shaker beige, muslin, bone white, Richmond bisque. It's difficult to be sure as monitor colors may be different than actual colors.

Agree with both the other comments :) dark colours can look super glamorous in small spaces; just be sure to include some shine via either mirrors or metallic surfaces. :) Good Luck!
