Hello - yes - that bathroom is all marble (including the ceiling in the shower). The supplier's specification references it as Churchill Marble - polished, but be very careful when purchasing this material. I have seen samples called Churchill Marble from different vendors/lots/quarries that have much different coloration ranging from almost a white/gray to a very heavily veined tan/gray spectrum as you see in the picture. The material we used was modestly veined and very consistent across the lot in color and pattern. It's always best to see if the supplier can get a box of the material and you can inspect it for variation and color before committing to a design.

Ah ok! Thank you kind people I guess the vote goes to tile then. I haven't started but will overlay over the existing tiles. And yes I was referring to walls. I was shown lovely pictures of bathrooms that had painted walls but was adviced against it as a) my bathroom is pretty small and b) those picts were probably of powder rooms. Thanks again

Marble are both non-porous thus it would cause etching and corrosion. Besides that, marble are high maintenance materials. Marble requires proper care and maintenance. Acid should never be used on marble as it shall loose its shine. Marble should be regularly polished over a period of time to give it a new look. If proper precautions are not taken the marble becomes yellowish in colour. Italian marble is usually very soft and prone to cracks. Proper resins have to be used to make the surface strong and solid and avoid further cracks. Proper sealants should be used in marble flooring as the marble is highly porous and prone to staining. It absorbs stains very quickly especially kitchen stains hence are not appropriate for kitchen counter tops. In the long run, wooden looking tiles (made of porcelain or ceramic) would be more practical. You can also consider marble looking quartz. You may check out the D & L series of iQuartz range.
