Colours for kitchen tiles, worktop and cupboards

Hi,

We are about to renovate kitchen and have chosen the floor tiles. We like the smaller wall tiles that are the co-ordinating tile (except would choose brick rather than square). Dilemmas are:

If we choose the co-ordinating wall tile then the worktop would have to be plain white (not keen on white worktops - curry staining) or would plain taupe work?

We had thought of white cupboards but then saw Shaded White cupboards in showroom and thought it looked good. However, would choose Skimming Stone instead of Shaded White as that is palette we are working with. Would this look bland with plain worktop or would it be better going for a more detailed worktop (as in showroom pic) and forget about the wall tiles?

Trying to figure out which would work best…

How about upstands to match worktop, and forget about wall tiles?

The floor tile is fine, though I'd choose the right worktops for the kitchen (with upstands) and choose the tiles afterwards if you're not sure.

Personally I'd go for a medium to heavy veined white quartz worktop, then probably a plainer tile. Or even better continue the worktops up for the splashback ... though this maybe alittle higher on cost.

Also a stain is a stain no matter what colour your worktops are. They need to be looked after like anything, but are generally very good.

    Good luck with you choices

Once you’ve chosen your kitchen cupboards, then choose your worktop, doesn’t have to be white, wall tiles and lastly your flooring. Have you thought about a wood effect LVT or wood effect porcelain tiles as a flooring option? I do like your floor tiles though. My sister chose a beige/cream mottled quartz worktop and it’s lovely and makes a nice change from the usual white. Here’s a pic.
