Wrong choice/ what color now
i believe the photo illustrates whats wrong with paint color & tile. several years ago i was advised to use SW Believable Buff with my tile. ive lived with it for years & im ready to paint. Retired now & looking at it Im baffled. going to make changes sofa is only thing that will stay. ( ive removed area trug & other furniture) I want to get the walks to a good neutral that doesnt battle with the tile. no gray.

Comments (12)I would seriously consider replacing the cabinets before putting a new granite countertop on them. The problem is that no one will remove the countertop at a later date if you want to change the cabinets, due to the possibility of breakage. The only choice you will have then is a reface. Adding new doors, drawer fronts, and veneered sides is just a facelift. You could also add new hardwood drawers with undermount cushion close slides, but by the time you do this if will be the same cost as new cabinets now. The cabinets you have now, frameless, particle board sides are notorious for having the hinge screws strip out the particle board they are attached to. Since you can't put a longer screw in them, because the material is only 3/4" of an inch thick you have a problem. You also can't put a wider screw in them because it won't fit through the pre-drilled holes in the hinges....See Morei am bored with the look of my home!

I would say just a tad more yellow if your husband can bear it, doesn't have to be solid yellow. I'd add something else on the left shelves (I'd move one shelf of photos to the right hand shelving and swap for some books), maybe a ginger jar if you can get an old one. Maybe a patterned throw or cushion for your wooden chair and a small yellow throw for the bench just draped over the corner. Table idea sounds great. Are you happy with it? 3 months agoHere are three color schemes that I think would go well with your dark brown couch and floor tiles. In all of them, a shade of white is used. I recommend starting with a rug you love, then sampling many whites in your space.
